On most Galaxy phones, open Settings > About phone to find the product name and model number. Record both: the name identifies the phone at a glance, while the complete model number helps distinguish versions that may differ by release year, color, or carrier.
Find the model name and number in Settings

Open Settings.

Tap About phone.

Note the displayed product or model name and the full model number.
Samsung notes that screens and settings can vary by wireless provider, software version, and phone model. If you do not see that exact path, search Settings for “About phone.” On some older Galaxy devices the screen is called About device; on some older software, the details may be under Status. Samsung’s US support page describes the available information and these variations.

Keep the IMEI and serial number private. They identify a specific device, unlike the model name, and should not be posted publicly.

If you cannot open About phone
If the phone will not turn on, is locked, or is not with you, check existing records. Try these options in order:

Removable-battery label: On a phone designed with a removable battery, the label beneath it may provide device details. Do not open a sealed phone to look for a label.
When to use the *#06# dialer code
On supported phones and carriers, enter *#06# in the Phone app to display device identifiers. Samsung’s US support page says the code displays the IMEI and serial number; it is not a universal way to obtain a readable product name. If the code does not work, use Settings or your packaging and account records instead.
If the model is still unclear
Do not identify a Galaxy from camera layout or appearance alone: designs can resemble one another, and appearance does not establish the exact variant. Find the full model number in About phone or a device record, then contact Samsung support for your region if the label or code remains unclear. Menu names and available information vary by model, software version, and carrier.
