Use your Samsung Galaxy’s usual screenshot controls to capture a banking app screen, but some banks block screenshots on sensitive pages. If you see a security-policy message, the restriction is usually the app’s security choice—not a problem with your phone. Use the bank’s official receipt, statement, export, or sharing option instead, or contact the bank for help.
How to take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy
Screenshot controls vary by Galaxy model and software version. On many Galaxy phones, press the Side button and Volume Down button at the same time, then release them. Check the instructions for your specific model if that combination does not work. Samsung’s support example for a Galaxy folder phone uses Home and Power/End together; that method is not universal.
Try taking a screenshot in another app first. If it works there, your phone’s screenshot controls are functioning, and a failure limited to the banking app is more likely to be an app security restriction.

Android lets apps mark sensitive screens as secure. Android Developers explains: “When a window is flagged with FLAG_SECURE, Android prevents screenshots from being taken and prevents the window from being displayed on a non-secure display, such as a TV or projector.” A bank may apply that protection to particular screens, such as a login or payment screen; it does not necessarily mean screenshots are blocked throughout the entire app.

Samsung Support says banking and securities apps may disallow screenshots under their security policies and advises users to contact the app maker. Whether a particular bank blocks a particular screen depends on that bank’s app and policy.
What “Can’t take screenshot due to security policy” means
A security-policy warning—or a blank capture—can indicate that the banking app is preventing the screen from being captured. A Samsung Community post about a Galaxy A22 describes a similar warning while a QR code was displayed. That is one user’s report, not a standard message guaranteed to appear on every Galaxy or banking app.

Android 14 also introduced an API that allows an app to detect when a screenshot is taken. Detection and blocking are different: the documented Android control for preventing screenshots is FLAG_SECURE.

How to get a shareable banking record
- Look for an in-app record. Check the transaction or account screen for options such as Receipt, Share, Export, or Download. The names and availability vary by bank.
- Use an official statement or receipt. A bank-provided PDF statement or transaction receipt may be more suitable for keeping or sharing than a screen image. Confirm it contains the details you need.
- Ask the bank. Contact the bank or its app support team to learn how to obtain a shareable record when a screen is protected.
- Check the bank’s website if it offers online banking. Some banks may provide records through their official website, but availability and download or print options must be confirmed with that bank.

Check the screenshot instructions for your exact Galaxy model and software. Button combinations differ across devices; Samsung’s Home plus Power/End example applies to a folder phone, not every Galaxy.

Screenshots work elsewhere but not in the banking app
Treat this as a likely app restriction rather than a device fault. Look for the bank’s official record or sharing options, or ask the bank how to obtain the information.
Why Secure Folder is not a confirmed fix
Samsung Secure Folder is available only on supported devices. Samsung’s guidance does not say that moving a banking app into Secure Folder overrides that app’s screenshot protections, so do not rely on it to capture a protected screen.

Why bypass tools are a bad idea
Do not use modified banking apps, rooting, or capture utilities to get around a protected screen. Google Play policy says apps must respect other apps’ FLAG_SECURE declarations and must not facilitate workarounds. Use a bank-approved way to obtain the record instead.
