Ultrahuman’s published guidance describes AFib Detection as overnight heart-rhythm monitoring, but does not document how to start a separate on-demand Ring Heart Scan. Check the current Ultrahuman app for the scan’s own instructions; do not assume that FibriCheck’s phone-camera procedure is the Ring procedure.
What Ultrahuman documents about heart-rhythm scanning
Ultrahuman describes AFib Detection as an optional PowerPlug that monitors heart rhythm overnight for signs of atrial fibrillation. Its PowerPlugs page and how-it-works page explain overnight monitoring, not the steps for starting an on-demand scan.

Ultrahuman’s July 16, 2024 launch announcement likewise described AFib Detection as a PowerPlug that monitors heart rhythm every night. None of these sources establishes the on-demand scan’s app location, duration, setup, result categories, or compatible Ring and app versions.

Because the published Ultrahuman instructions do not verify an on-demand workflow, use the instructions currently shown in your app rather than following a procedure from another service. If you cannot find the feature or its instructions, contact Ultrahuman support and ask specifically about the on-demand Ring Heart Scan, including its availability for your region and app version.

Ultrahuman says users can enable PowerPlugs by opening the option to activate more PowerPlugs, browsing the available options, and tapping Get; paid options may lead to an app-store purchase. Those steps enable a PowerPlug. They do not explain how to initiate an on-demand scan, and they do not confirm that overnight AFib Detection and a separately named Heart Scan have the same eligibility or cost. Check current in-app details before purchasing or relying on availability.
Why FibriCheck’s phone instructions are not Ring instructions
FibriCheck documents a separate smartphone measurement: open its app, tap Start measurement, and place a finger over the phone camera for 60 seconds without covering the flash. Afterward, report any symptoms and what you were doing. Its guidance recommends clean hands and camera lens, sitting with arms supported, and not talking, moving, or shifting the finger during the recording. Ultrahuman’s terms identify Qompium NV (FibriCheck) as the licensed technology provider for AFib Detection. That relationship does not establish that the Ring scan uses the same controls, measurement method, timing, or result process as FibriCheck’s phone app. Do not put a finger on a phone camera as a substitute for Ring instructions unless Ultrahuman explicitly directs you to do so.

How to interpret the feature’s medical limits
Ultrahuman’s terms state that PowerPlug insights generally are not medical advice and do not replace clinical testing or consultation with a physician. The terms also say AFib Detection is cleared as a medical device in select jurisdictions; they do not establish clearance or availability everywhere. If you have symptoms or a concern about your heart rhythm, seek advice from a healthcare professional rather than relying on an unverified scan workflow.
