To capture an entire web page on an iPhone, open it in Safari, take a normal screenshot, tap the preview, choose Full Page, then save it as an image in Photos or as a PDF in Files. A normal screenshot captures only the visible screen; Full Page includes content below the fold.
The button combination depends on your iPhone. The steps below cover Face ID models, Home-button models, current iOS 26’s full-screen screenshot view, and the older thumbnail interface.

Take a full-page screenshot in Safari
- Open the page in Safari. Navigate to the exact webpage you want to preserve and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Take a screenshot.
- On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button together.
- On an iPhone with a side-button Home sensor, quickly press and release the side button and Home button together.
- On some older iPhones, press and release the top button and Home button together.
- Open the screenshot controls. In current iOS 26, the screenshot opens in a full-screen presentation. In iOS 18 and earlier, tap the temporary thumbnail that appears near the lower-left corner before it disappears.
- Choose Full Page. This switches from a viewport image to a capture that extends through the Safari page. A vertical preview appears on the right; drag it to inspect the page.
- Adjust the capture if needed. Use Crop to remove unwanted edges. Use Markup to draw, add text, or place shapes.
- Save it. Choose Save to Photos for an image, or Save PDF to Files for a PDF. If your screen shows a Done button instead, tap it, choose Save File To, name the file, and tap Save.
Apple describes this Safari feature as a way to “capture an entire webpage.” It is the correct control whenever the page continues below the visible screen.

Normal screenshot versus Full Page

Full Page is not a taller version of a regular image preview. It is a separate capture mode selected after the screenshot. If you save without selecting it, you get only the visible viewport.

Save the result and find it later
Save a full-page image to Photos
In the screenshot editor, choose Save to Photos. The image is added to your Photos library. To locate regular screenshots later, open Photos, tap Collections, scroll to Media Types, and tap Screenshots.
Save a full-page PDF to Files
Select Save PDF to Files, or use the Done → Save File To path shown by your iOS version. Pick a location such as iCloud Drive or On My iPhone, enter a filename, and tap Save. A PDF is stored in Files, not in the Photos screenshot album.
Choose the format deliberately
- Use an image when the recipient needs a picture for a message, design review, or visual reference.
- Use a PDF when you need a document that can be filed, shared as one attachment, or marked up across a long page.
Use Safari’s direct webpage-to-PDF workflow
You do not have to start with the hardware screenshot buttons when your real goal is a PDF. In Safari:
- Open the webpage.
- Tap the Page Menu or More button.
- Tap Share, then choose Markup.
- Annotate the page if required.
- Tap Done, choose Save File To, name the document, and tap Save.
This path produces a PDF rather than an image screenshot. It is useful when you want a document immediately and do not need a PNG or JPEG copy in Photos.

Screenshot controls when buttons are difficult to press
Apple lists three alternatives to the two-button shortcut: AssistiveTouch, Back Tap, and Siri. These are useful if pressing two physical buttons together is uncomfortable or unreliable.
AssistiveTouch
Turn on AssistiveTouch in the iPhone’s Accessibility settings, then assign a screenshot action to its on-screen menu or a custom gesture. The exact labels can vary with iOS version, so use the Accessibility search field if you do not see the setting immediately. After the screenshot is taken, follow the same preview → Full Page process.
Back Tap
In Accessibility settings, configure a double-tap or triple-tap on the back of the iPhone to take a screenshot. Open the Safari page, perform the assigned tap, and then select Full Page from the screenshot editor.

Ask Siri to take a screenshot while the Safari page is open. When the screenshot editor appears, select Full Page and save it in the required format.

Model and iOS differences
The capture feature is the same, but the physical shortcut and preview layout depend on the phone and software:
- Face ID iPhones: side button plus volume up.
- Side-button Home models: side button plus Home.
- Older top-button models: top button plus Home.
- iOS 26: Apple’s current guidance presents screenshots full-screen.
- iOS 18 and earlier: screenshots generally appear first as a temporary lower-left thumbnail.
If your screen looks different from a guide written for another iOS release, look for the same controls—Full Page, Crop, Markup, and the save commands—inside the presentation your phone displays.
Troubleshooting a long screenshot
There is no Full Page option
- Confirm that the page is open in Safari, not merely viewed inside another app’s embedded browser.
- Take the screenshot first, then open its editor; the Full Page control appears in that workflow.
- If you only need a document, use Safari’s Page Menu or More → Share → Markup PDF path instead.
The capture shows only what was visible
You saved a normal viewport screenshot. Reopen the screenshot preview immediately after taking it and select Full Page before saving.

The screenshot preview disappeared
On interfaces that use a temporary thumbnail, take the screenshot again and tap the thumbnail promptly. On iOS 26, open the full-screen screenshot presentation that appears after the button press.

I cannot find the file
Images saved with Save to Photos are in Photos; use Collections → Media Types → Screenshots. PDFs saved with Save PDF to Files are in the Files location you selected. Check iCloud Drive and On My iPhone if you are unsure which destination you chose.
The wrong portion of the page is included
Use Crop in the screenshot editor before saving. Drag the right-hand page preview to inspect the entire capture and remove unnecessary margins or sections.
