For U.S. viewers, the right way to stream an MLB game depends on whether it is a regular-season or postseason game, where you are watching, and which network carries it. MLB.TV is primarily for out-of-market regular-season games, subject to blackouts. Postseason games use NBC/Peacock, FOX/FS1 and TBS, with live U.S. access generally requiring authentication through a participating pay-TV provider.
Choose a stream based on the game and your location
Before subscribing, identify the matchup, its date and round, and the ZIP code where you will watch. Compare the game’s coverage, local-territory restrictions, whether access is live or on demand, any network authentication requirement, and the current price and renewal terms.

Stream regular-season games with MLB.TV
MLB describes MLB.TV as a way to watch out-of-market games live or on demand. It is not a blanket pass to every live game: blackout restrictions apply. Review the MLB.TV package and features and check the blackout rules and ZIP-code lookup for the place you will watch before purchasing.
Why a local game may be blacked out
MLB ties blackout restrictions to a club’s home television territory. A restriction may apply whether that club is playing at home or away, and even if the game is not televised locally. That means the relevant question is not only which teams are playing, but whether either team’s territory or another exclusivity applies to your location.

Look for an in-market team subscription
For the 2026 season, an MLB guide reported that 22 of the league’s 30 clubs had in-market, blackout-free streaming subscriptions. Availability and terms differ by club and location; consult the guide’s team information and confirm eligibility with the service before subscribing. The MLB app is also a viewing option for MLB.TV and Club.TV subscribers.
Watch the MLB postseason online
Postseason streaming follows the network assigned to each round, rather than the regular-season out-of-market model. MLB’s 2026 postseason schedule and viewing notes list NBC/Peacock for the Wild Card round, FOX for the American League Division Series and Championship Series and the World Series, and TBS for the National League Division Series and Championship Series.

For eligible postseason games, MLB states: “Authentication required to stream LIVE in the U.S.” In practice, check the game’s network and confirm that your pay-TV provider carries that network and is accepted for authentication. MLB maintains network-specific provider lists; a provider appearing on one list does not establish eligibility for every network or location.
Check price and eligibility before paying
MLB pages displayed different 2026 MLB.TV seasonal prices when accessed on October 4, 2026: $69.99 on the product page and $29.99 on a separate purchase page. The pages did not explain the difference, so neither figure should be treated as a universal price. Check the live purchase flow for the offer available to your location and eligibility, along with its terms.

Do not compare a club’s in-market package with MLB.TV by price alone: the services may cover different games and territories. Confirm which games are included, whether the subscription is live or on demand, and any renewal terms before checkout.

U.S. postseason authentication rules do not automatically apply internationally. MLB’s 2026 postseason schedule says live postseason games are available internationally except in Canada. MLB.TV’s product information also warns that exclusivity restrictions can apply internationally. Check the specific country and game rather than assuming a U.S. package or rule will work abroad.
