You can keep pre-recorded video live on YouTube around the clock by sending it through an encoder: either software running on a computer you leave on, or a cloud service that handles the stream for you. First enable live streaming on your verified channel, create a stream in YouTube Studio, connect the encoder with YouTube’s server URL and stream key, then test the preview and monitor the feed. For Indian channels, the technical workflow is the same; the sources cited here do not establish special India-only setup rules.
Before you begin: check channel eligibility and timing
Verify your YouTube channel and confirm it has no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until launch day. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance explains the requirements.
- Allow time for first-time activation.
- Prepare the recording or playlist you intend to stream, and confirm you have the necessary rights for the broadcast.
- Choose where the encoder will run: on a computer or supported hardware you maintain, or in a cloud service.
Choose how to keep the stream running
1. StreamNeo: cloud streaming with no computer left on
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for streaming uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded content from the cloud. It is #1 for this use case because it keeps the stream running without a home computer, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and includes a free first day.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesEach slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. The same features apply to every plan; only the billing length changes. You can pay for a day, a week, a month, six months, or a year, and cancel any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

2. Run an encoder on a computer or hardware device
YouTube supports software encoders running on computers and standalone hardware encoders. This route gives you control over the local workflow, but the encoder, computer or device, power, and network connection must remain available for the stream to continue. YouTube’s verified encoder list also includes Gyre as a cloud-based service for 24/7 pre-recorded streaming; the reviewed listing does not establish its current availability or price in India. See YouTube’s encoder guide.

Looping and playlist controls depend on the encoder you choose. The general YouTube encoder guidance does not document every encoder’s repeat settings, so check the selected product’s current instructions and test the loop before relying on it.

- Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, create a live stream or schedule one. Scheduling gives you a watch page that you can share before the stream starts. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide and live-stream settings guidance for the current Studio workflow.
- Get the connection details: Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the encoder’s corresponding fields. Treat the stream key like a password: it is the credential that lets the encoder send a feed to your stream. Do not expose it publicly.
- Configure the encoder: Select the recording or playlist and the desired output settings in the encoder. Resolution, bitrate, keyframe interval, file compatibility, and repeat behavior are encoder-specific; use the encoder’s current instructions rather than assuming a setting applies across products.
- Start the encoder: Begin sending the feed, then check the Live Control Room preview before starting or promoting the event. Confirm that the video and audio are present and that the event is accessible.
- Monitor the broadcast: Keep checking stream health and audio/video quality. YouTube recommends adequate outbound bandwidth and 20% bandwidth headroom; network interruptions can break the feed. Its guidance also recommends setting up in advance and testing rather than waiting until the scheduled start.
- Stop intentionally: To end the stream, stop sending content from the encoder. If you need another broadcast after a failure or planned stop, check the encoder and Live Control Room state before restarting.
Clear rights for every video and audio track
Use only material for which you have the rights needed for the intended territories and live broadcast. Public availability, a previous upload, or a third-party license does not by itself establish permission to retransmit the material live. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match can replace the stream with a placeholder, and continued use can interrupt or terminate it.

Even if you hold a license, a stream can be interrupted when the rights owner has not added your channel to the Content ID allowlist. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to hold the necessary rights, including music licensing rights, and comply with laws and regulations that apply to the stream territory. For a specific Indian music or licensing question, these sources do not determine the legal answer. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms.
Plan for continuity, replays, and monetization
Continuity
A 24/7 broadcast depends on the full path from the source videos through the encoder and network to YouTube. For a local setup, a power, computer, encoder, or connection failure can stop the feed; arrange monitoring and a response plan. Cloud operation avoids needing your home computer to stay on, but it does not mean YouTube or any service guarantees uninterrupted delivery. YouTube recommends preparing in advance, checking the preview, leaving bandwidth headroom, and monitoring audio and video.

- Power Supply: 550W 80PLUS Bronze certified power supply ensures stable and energy-efficient operation
Replays and archives
YouTube states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement does not promise one complete replay for a stream lasting 24 hours or longer. If an archive matters, plan around the under-12-hour guidance, check current Studio behavior, and consider how you will preserve or publish the source video separately.
Ads and earnings
A channel that qualifies for monetization can enable live-stream ads, including pre-roll and display ads, and may run mid-rolls. Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve, and earnings are not assured by the number of live views. Watch-page ads and Premium revenue require acceptance of YouTube’s Watch Page Monetization Module. Check YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance and module and monetization options.

Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable: Verify the channel and check for a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube receives no feed: Check that the encoder has the correct server URL and stream key, then confirm the encoder is actively sending. If you exposed the key, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Preview is blank or has no sound: Confirm that the intended video and audio tracks are selected in the encoder, and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting.
- Feed drops or becomes unstable: Check outbound bandwidth and preserve the recommended 20% headroom. Test the setup in advance, monitor the connection, and identify how you will restart or recover the stream.
- Video or playlist does not repeat: Confirm the chosen encoder’s current loop or playlist instructions and test a full repeat cycle. The generic YouTube encoder guide does not specify every product’s repeat behavior.
- Stream is interrupted for copyright: Review the matched material and rights, and contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting where appropriate. A license alone may not prevent interruption if the channel is not allowlisted.
- No complete replay appears: The cited archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours, not a continuous 24-hour stream. Check Studio and make a separate replay plan instead of assuming the full broadcast will be archived.
