Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are officially announced for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. That is a release window, not a confirmed launch date. Treat other leak claims as unconfirmed unless Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, or another identifiable first-party channel confirms the exact detail. To stay safe, check official pages by navigating to them yourself, avoid suspicious sign-in links, and change your Nintendo Account password promptly if you entered it on a suspicious site.
What is officially confirmed about Pokémon Winds and Waves?
Nintendo announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves for Nintendo Switch 2 with a 2027 release window. The announcement does not establish a specific launch day. Nintendo’s May 2026 product schedule also lists the games for 2027 and notes that titles and launch timing may change.
Nintendo’s official game description says the games feature an open world, windswept islands, a vast ocean, and Pokémon living in distinct ecosystems. Those are the confirmed details on that page; they do not verify additional claims about mechanics, story events, maps, Pokémon, or exact release dates. A rumor that happens to match an official detail is not proof that the rumor’s other claims are true.

How to check whether a supposed leak is real
- Open official sources directly. Type Nintendo’s or The Pokémon Company’s web address yourself, or use a trusted bookmark, then look for the announcement. A search snippet, fan account, reposted screenshot, or video can point you toward a claim, but it does not establish that claim as official.
- Check the exact detail. Compare the leak’s claim with what the official page actually says. Confirmation of the games, their setting, or their release window does not confirm unmentioned features, characters, story details, or dates.
- Check who published it and when. Look for an identifiable first-party publisher, a dated post, and an official URL. If you cannot find a first-party source for the specific detail, treat it as unconfirmed.
- Do not rely on the sender line. Nintendo warns that scammers can spoof Nintendo email addresses, and that links in suspicious messages may lead to scam sites. A familiar-looking sender name or address is not enough to prove a message is genuine.
- Do not sign in or download to “unlock” a leak. Requests to verify your account, claim early access, or download a purported leak are warning signs. Do not use the message’s link; navigate independently to Nintendo’s site instead.
Nintendo’s 2024 notice about suspicious emails spoofing Nintendo addresses explains the risk and advises recipients not to open links in those messages.
Protect your Nintendo Account
Use a passkey on a personal device
Nintendo says a passkey is created specifically for your Nintendo Account and cannot be guessed or used on other sites, helping protect against phishing. Nintendo cautions against setting up a passkey on a shared device. See Nintendo’s passkey guidance.
Or enable 2-Step Verification
Nintendo recommends 2-Step Verification. In addition to your account email or sign-in ID and password, signing in requires a time-sensitive code. Save the backup codes securely; Nintendo says they can be used if your authenticator is unavailable. See Nintendo’s 2-Step Verification instructions.
