Order of the Sinking Star is scheduled to release on October 8, 2026. As of October 7, the game is not yet available on Steam, so verified help currently covers its demo—not the hardest puzzles in the full release. To get unstuck without spoiling more than necessary, work through hints in stages: start with a nudge, then seek a partial hint, and only read a complete solution if you still need it.

What players can verify before the full release

Thekla describes Order of the Sinking Star as a narrative puzzle adventure with more than 1,000 interconnected, handcrafted puzzles. Its Steam description presents four distinct worlds, each with its own mechanics, characters, and story, and says those puzzle systems can intertwine as the worlds merge. Thekla’s official site and Steam listing give October 8, 2026 as the planned release date; Steam showed the game as not yet available when checked on October 7, 2026. The currently available walkthrough information in the sources here is for the demo. An independent, fan-made wiki walkthrough reports more than 100 demo puzzles across three explorable worlds and a hub, but that is an unofficial demo-only count, not an official statistic for the complete game. It also cannot establish which full-release puzzles will be the hardest or provide verified solutions for them. Demo walkthrough

Use a spoiler ladder, not a full solution first

The fan-made demo walkthrough uses three levels of disclosure: a nudge, a partial hint, and the full answer. Following that order lets you get just enough help to continue while preserving as much of the puzzle as possible. This is a practical approach reflected in that demo guide, not an official hint system confirmed for the full game.

  1. Nudge: Look for a clue about the relevant mechanic, object, or relationship without being told the move sequence.
  2. Partial hint: Use this if the nudge does not clarify what to try. It should narrow the approach while leaving some reasoning to you.
  3. Full answer: Read the complete solution only if you are still stuck, and check that it is for the specific demo room you are playing.

Stop at the first level that gets you moving again. A walkthrough for a demo room should not be treated as a solution to a similarly themed room in the full release.

A general method for working through a difficult room

The following steps are general reasoning guidance based on the game’s official description of mechanics that build and intertwine. They are not tested gameplay instructions or verified solutions for particular rooms.

  1. State the immediate goal. Identify what must change in the room and which visible objects or characters might affect it.
  2. Recall the latest local rule. Think about the mechanic introduced most recently in the current area. Check whether the puzzle varies that rule or combines it with another one.
  3. Test one assumption at a time. Make a small change, then observe what it affects. Changing one thing at a time makes it easier to distinguish cause from coincidence.
  4. Reconsider interactions between rules. The official description says puzzle systems can intertwine as worlds merge. If a familiar mechanic appears not to work, consider whether another rule changes its effect.
  5. Escalate help gradually. Seek a mechanic-focused nudge first, then a partial hint, and finally a room-specific complete solution if needed.

Thekla’s Steam description says, “Each puzzle builds on the last, introducing new game mechanics that reward curiosity and persistence.” That progression makes it useful to treat an apparent dead end as a reason to check what the room is asking you to combine, rather than assume a familiar rule is unchanged. How to choose a walkthrough safely

  • Check the scope: Confirm that the guide covers the demo and the room you are playing. The available fan-made walkthrough is not an authoritative guide to full-release puzzles.
  • Choose the spoiler depth: Open the nudge before the partial hint or full answer, if the guide separates them.
  • Do not infer rankings: No verified comparison establishes which puzzles are hardest, either across the demo or in the full game.
  • Keep platform assumptions modest: Steam lists “Controller” as a tag, but that does not establish compatibility with a particular controller or that a controller is necessary.

What remains unknown about the hardest puzzles

Because the full game is scheduled to become available on October 8, 2026—one day after the Steam listing was checked—there is not yet a verified basis here for naming its hardest rooms, ranking them, or publishing their solutions. The demo walkthrough can help with its covered demo content, but it should not be generalized to the complete game.
