To set up and map a Shark AV2501S AI Ultra, place the robot and its self-empty base according to the included instructions, connect it through the SharkClean app, then give it a clear route through the home without moving the robot or dock during its run. Shark identifies the AV2501S as the AI Ultra Robot Self-Empty and describes its mapping as 360° LiDAR. The exact pairing and mapping-start controls can vary with the current app, so follow the instructions shown for your device rather than relying on button combinations from another Shark model.
Before you begin
- Check the product label and confirm the model is AV2501S. Shark lists this model as the AI Ultra Robot Self-Empty. SharkNinja’s product listing describes 360° LiDAR home mapping and app-based cleaning features.
- Have the robot, self-empty base, and included setup materials available. The product listing includes a HEPA self-empty base and side brush; use the included instructions for the assembly and placement sequence.
- Install the current SharkClean app and have access to the phone and network details it requests during setup.
Shark’s available app-support page confirms the app download path, but does not establish a current, AV2501S-specific pairing flow. For that reason, the exact screens and connection requirements should come from the app prompts and the owner instructions supplied with your robot.
Set up the robot and connect it to SharkClean
- Assemble and place the base: Follow the AV2501S instructions for the base and robot. Do not assume a clearance measurement, assembly order, or charging duration from instructions for another model.
- Install SharkClean: Download the app from Shark’s support page or the app store on your phone, then open it.
- Add the robot: Follow the app’s current prompts to add a device and select the AV2501S if asked. Complete the connection steps shown on screen; exact labels and requirements are not established here and may change with app updates.

Prepare the home for mapping
Before the robot makes a mapping run, clear cords and small objects from its route and open interior doors to areas you want it to reach. These are sensible preparation steps drawn from Shark guidance for its related 2400WD series, not confirmed AV2501S-specific requirements. The related-series manual also advises keeping the robot and dock in place during a run because moving them can affect navigation and the robot’s return to the dock. Run the mapping process
- Put the robot at its base and leave the base in the location specified by the included instructions.
- Use the app or the robot’s included instructions to start the appropriate run. The precise mapping-only command or button sequence for the AV2501S is not established here, so do not substitute a sequence from another Shark robot.
- Give the robot access to the spaces you want included in its map. Keep its route clear and avoid moving the robot or base while it is navigating.
- Let the run finish, then check the map or cleaning options available in the current app.

Use the map in SharkClean
Shark’s product listing says the app can be used to select specific areas, start cleaning on demand, and create schedules. Once your map is available, use the controls shown in your version of SharkClean to choose a supported area or set a schedule. Do not assume the app offers particular features such as room naming, map editing, or no-go zones unless they appear for your robot in the current app.
