To use an onn. projector, aim it at a wall or screen, connect a video source, select the matching input, then adjust focus and keystone until the picture is sharp and rectangular. Exact ports, controls, and smart features depend on the projector model, so check its label and manual before connecting a phone or streaming device.
Identify your onn. projector model first
onn. projectors do not all have the same ports or included equipment. Check the model number printed on the projector or packaging, then consult the manual for that exact unit. For example, Walmart lists model 100096801 as a 720p LCD projector with two HDMI inputs and an included 6-foot HDMI cable. A separate Walmart Business listing describes model 100010682 as a 720p projector packaged with a Roku Streaming Stick. Those details apply to the named listings, not every onn. projector. Set up and start the projector
- Position it. Put the projector on a stable surface and aim it at a blank wall or projection screen. Keep the lens pointed toward the center of the display area; use the model’s manual for placement and distance guidance.
- Power it on. Connect the power supply and turn on the projector using its power control or remote, as provided with your model.
- Connect a source. For a device with HDMI output, connect it to an available HDMI input using a suitable cable. If you have model 100096801, the retailer listing specifies two HDMI inputs and a 6-foot cable in the package; included contents can vary by model and listing.
- Select the source input. Open the projector’s source or input controls and choose the port you used, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. Button names and menu layouts vary by model. Walmart’s general projector guidance likewise directs users to connect a source and select the corresponding input. (Walmart projector guidance)
- Adjust the picture. Use the focus control to sharpen the image. If the picture is wider at one end or otherwise trapezoid-shaped, use keystone correction if your model provides it. Model 100096801’s listing specifies vertical keystone correction of ±15°; that figure should not be assumed for other models. (Walmart listing for model 100096801)
Connect a phone or tablet
There is no single phone-connection method that works with every onn. projector and phone. The projector must support the chosen input, and the phone must be able to send video through that connection. Check both device manuals before buying an adapter or relying on wireless mirroring. - HDMI adapter: If the projector has HDMI and your phone supports video output through an appropriate adapter, connect the adapter and HDMI cable, then select the matching HDMI input. Charging or data adapters do not necessarily carry video.
- Wireless mirroring: Use this only if both the phone and the particular projector support a compatible wireless display method. Do not assume AirPlay or Miracast is available.
- USB: A USB port does not automatically mean the projector accepts USB video from a phone. Use USB for video only if the projector documentation confirms that function.
If the phone screen does not appear, confirm that the adapter supports video output for that phone, the projector accepts the selected connection, and the correct input is selected. A known-compatible HDMI source can help determine whether the issue is the phone connection or the projector input.

Use Roku features when your model includes them
Some onn. projector packages include a Roku Streaming Stick, and Roku smart-projector models have guided setup features; neither capability should be presumed on every onn. unit. If your package includes a stick, connect it to an available HDMI input and follow the projector’s on-screen instructions. On a Roku smart projector, follow the on-screen setup, including Wi-Fi configuration, and use Roku’s instructions for its projector settings. Fix common picture and connection problems
The image is blurry
Adjust the projector’s focus control. If you have a Roku smart-projector model, Roku documents a Start auto-focus option and manual focus under Settings > Projector Settings. Other models may use a physical dial or a different menu.

The image is slanted or trapezoid-shaped
Use the model’s keystone correction to square the image. Roku smart-projector guidance includes auto-keystone and manual corner correction; other onn. models may provide different controls or correction ranges. If available, repositioning the projector so it faces the screen more directly can also help.

A connected device produces no picture
Check that the cable is fully connected at both ends and that the selected input matches the port in use. Try another supported input or a known-compatible source if available. The exact input labels depend on the projector.
A phone’s video does not appear
Verify that the phone outputs video over the adapter or wireless method you chose and that the projector supports that method. A USB connection is not proof of USB video support, and wireless mirroring depends on both devices.

Use an additional HDMI cable only if your projector needs one—for instance, if the supplied cable is missing, damaged, or too short. Likewise, add a streaming stick only if your model has a suitable, unused HDMI input and the package does not already include one.
