Turn on player-status or injury push notifications in your fantasy app, choose the team or league you want covered, and allow notifications for the app in your phone’s settings. The exact menus differ by platform. Treat an alert as a cue to check the latest player designation and your lineup—not as a guarantee that every update will arrive before kickoff.
Set injury or player-status alerts in your fantasy app
Some apps let you configure alerts separately for each fantasy team or league. Check the selected team after changing settings, especially if you manage more than one.
ESPN Fantasy
- Open the ESPN Fantasy app and tap the gear icon.
- Tap Alert Preferences, then turn on Fantasy alerts.
- Choose the fantasy team and enable Player Status.
- Turn off any other alert categories you do not want. ESPN says turning on Fantasy alerts initially enables all options; tapping a fantasy alert opens the matchup. ESPN Fantasy alert preferences
Yahoo Fantasy on Android
- From Fantasy Home, tap your profile icon.
- Tap Edit Team Notifications and choose the fantasy team.
- Select or deselect the notification types you want. Yahoo lists injury status among its push notifications. Yahoo Fantasy Android notifications
Yahoo Fantasy on iPhone or iPad
- Go to Fantasy Home and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Settings, then Push Notification Settings.
- Choose the fantasy team or notification type and switch the relevant option on. Yahoo lists injury status among the available push notifications. Yahoo Fantasy iOS notifications
NFL Fantasy
NFL Support documents alert controls in two places. On the website, open the chosen league’s MY TEAM tab, select Edit Settings, then Manage my team and league alerts. In the app, open the league’s More, then Team Settings and Push Notifications (or Email Notifications). The support article explains how to unsubscribe, so use these paths to inspect available categories; it does not establish that a specific injury-alert option is available. NFL Fantasy alert settings
Sleeper
Sleeper’s support guidance covers general notifications, not a specific player-injury alert setup. It says app-wide notification permission is managed in your phone’s settings; channel-level settings can be opened with the bell icon beside a channel. Do not assume those controls include fantasy player injury alerts. Sleeper notification settings

Allow notifications on your phone
App preferences and operating-system permissions are separate. If the fantasy app’s alert is enabled but nothing appears, check the phone’s settings to confirm that notifications are allowed for that app. The exact device menu varies by operating system and version; Sleeper’s support guidance specifically distinguishes device-level permission from its in-app notification controls. What injury alerts can—and cannot—do
- They prompt a review. Open the player’s current status and check your lineup after an alert.
- They may not cover every change. The cited platform guidance does not promise that alerts are immediate or exhaustive, or that one will arrive before a game’s lineup deadline.
- Use category filters where available. ESPN lets you switch off unwanted alert types after enabling Fantasy alerts, which can reduce unrelated notifications. Yahoo also lets users choose notification types for a team. ESPN Fantasy alert preferences Yahoo Fantasy Android notifications Yahoo Fantasy iOS notifications
- Recheck menus after app updates. Labels and locations can change, so follow the current screens if a path has moved.
Optional: Yahoo Assistant GM
Yahoo has described Assistant GM, a Yahoo Fantasy Plus feature that monitors projection changes, injury reports, and other data, and can send a morning push notification when it identifies a lineup change that could improve a user’s chances. It is separate from basic injury-status notifications. Yahoo’s announcement does not establish its current price or availability. Yahoo Assistant GM announcement
