To get a notification when Bitcoin reaches a price you choose, create a BTC price alert in your exchange’s app or website, save it, and enable notifications in both the exchange and your device settings. An alert only notifies you—it does not buy or sell Bitcoin.
How Bitcoin price alerts work
Choose Bitcoin or a BTC trading pair, set a condition such as “above” or “below” a target price, and save the alert. Exchanges may offer additional conditions, such as a percentage move. The alert’s delivery depends on the exchange’s settings and your phone or computer permissions; it is not a guaranteed or instantaneous trade signal.
Alerts and controls can vary by exchange, app mode, and interface. If a label or control below is missing, check the exchange’s current help page or app version.
Set a Bitcoin price alert on Coinbase
- Search for Bitcoin in the Coinbase mobile app and select the asset.
- Tap the star to add Bitcoin to your watchlist. Coinbase says only watchlisted assets send price alerts.
- Tap the bell-plus icon, then choose Add Alert.
- Choose whether the price should move above or below your target, enter the price, and save.
- To choose delivery options, open Account & Settings > Notification Settings. Review the settings for predetermined Price Alerts and Custom Alerts; available switches include push, in-app, and/or email notifications for custom alerts. Coinbase Help
Set a Bitcoin price alert on Binance
Binance’s support instructions, updated January 6, 2026, say the app feature is available in Binance Pro. You can also create alerts on desktop.

In the Binance app
- Open Markets and search for the BTC trading pair you want to monitor.
- Tap the Alert icon, choose an alert type, enter the target and frequency, then create the alert.
- Enable Binance notifications in your phone’s settings so the app can deliver alerts.
On Binance desktop
- Open Alerts and choose Create Alert.
- Select the BTC pair and alert settings, then create the alert.
- Enable desktop system notifications for Binance in your operating system settings.
Binance lists absolute price conditions (reaches, rises above, or drops to a price), percentage-change conditions, and 24-hour change conditions. Its cited English support page says each alert is valid for 90 days, with up to 10 alerts per pair and 50 alerts total; these are Binance limits, not general exchange limits. Binance Support
Set a Bitcoin price alert on Kraken
Kraken documents alerts on web and mobile. On the web, use the Alerts widget. In the mobile app, use the bell on the Markets page or long-tap an open order or market. Before relying on mobile delivery, enable Kraken Pro push notifications in both your device settings and the app.

- Open the alert controls using the relevant web or mobile path.
- In the alert modal, select the BTC market, trigger parameters, and price.
- Create the alert. You can edit or delete active alerts afterward.
Kraken’s Market Alerts page, last updated January 20, 2026, says Futures alerts cannot currently be created in the app. A Futures alert created on the web may still send a mobile notification if push notifications for price alerts are enabled, but the notification may not open the correct market page. Check that notifications can reach you
- Exchange settings: Confirm the relevant price-alert notification type is enabled in the app or account settings. Some exchanges distinguish push, in-app, and email delivery.
- Device settings: Allow notifications for the exchange app on your phone, or system notifications for the exchange website on desktop.
- Alert details: Confirm the selected asset or BTC pair, direction, and target price before saving.
- Limits and expiry: Check the exchange’s current help page for alert caps and expiration. Limits differ between exchanges and can change.
A price alert is not an order
A price alert tells you when its condition is met; it does not execute a purchase or sale. Coinbase states: “Price alerts are only notifications that an asset has reached a certain price. They do not place an order for that asset.” If you decide to trade after receiving an alert, you must place a separate order and review its details before submitting it. Coinbase Help
