On desktop or in a browser, you find blocked people in the Blocked tab of the Friends screen. On the Discord mobile app, you find them under Settings > Content & Social > Accounts you’ve blocked & ignored. Discord’s help pages describe both locations, but menu labels change between app versions, so the steps below note where the wording may differ.
Find the Blocked list on desktop or in a browser
- Open Discord and go to the Direct Messages/Home area.
- Select Friends.
- Select Blocked at the top of the Friends screen, alongside All, Online and Pending.
Discord’s Friends List 101 article (updated February 10, 2025) defines the Blocked tab as the place that holds users you chose to block. If the tab is empty, you have no blocked accounts.
Find blocked accounts in the mobile app
- Tap your avatar.
- Tap the settings gear.
- Tap Content & Social.
- Tap Accounts you’ve blocked & ignored, then open the list.
This list combines blocked and ignored accounts, so check which label applies to each entry. Discord’s How to Ignore Users on Discord article (updated February 10, 2025) gives this path. If your app shows different wording, look for the section that manages blocked and ignored accounts.

What viewing a blocked person’s profile does
You can look at a blocked person’s profile without undoing the block. Discord’s Blocking & Privacy Settings article (updated February 10, 2025) states:

“If you wish to view a blocked user profile, you can select View Profile.”
According to the same article, opening the profile does not notify the blocked person and does not remove the block. Discord also describes blocked profiles as hidden by default, so the View Profile option is the path that makes them visible to you.

Blocking does not remove the other person from every shared space. Discord says messages from a blocked user in shared spaces are hidden by default but can be revealed. Its guide also describes an alert when you enter a shared group chat that includes a blocked person. Blocking mainly affects direct messages and your friendship status.

Block or Ignore: which one fits your situation
Ignore is a separate feature, not another name for Block. Discord’s comparison in its Ignore guide lists the differences below.

Choose Ignore if you want to reduce what you see from someone but keep the ability to interact. Choose Block if you want direct messages and the friendship to end.

If the list does not match what you expect
- The Blocked tab is empty: the account is either not blocked or was ignored instead. Check the mobile list or the Ignore settings.
- A mobile label is missing: Discord’s help pages were last updated on February 10, 2025. Check your app version and look for the blocked and ignored accounts section under Content & Social.
- A blocked person still appears in a shared group chat: this is expected. Blocking hides their messages in shared spaces by default, but it does not remove them from groups or servers.
