On a supported Samsung Galaxy, open the Quick panel, tap Screen recorder, choose your audio and touch-indicator options, then tap Start recording. When you stop, find the video in Gallery under Screen recordings. The exact controls depend on your model, region and software version.
Start a screen recording from the Quick panel

Swipe down from the top edge of the screen to open the Quick panel. Swipe down again or expand the panel if you do not see all available controls.

Tap Screen recorder.

Choose the sound and touch options shown on your device. Depending on the model and software, sound choices can include None, Media or Media and mic.

Tap Start recording. Samsung describes a three-second countdown, though some software may let you skip it.

Use the recording toolbar to pause, resume or stop. The recording is saved to your device.

Choose audio and recording options
Sound
For a narrated tutorial, select media audio and microphone input if your device offers it. Choose media audio to capture device playback without your narration, or no sound for a silent demonstration. Available options vary by device.
Quality, touch indicators and selfie video
Samsung US lists High (1080p), Medium (720p) and Low (480p) as quality options in its support guidance. These are not guaranteed to appear on every Galaxy. Higher resolution can make a video clearer, while lower quality can produce a smaller file. Enable the touch indicator when viewers need to follow your taps. A selfie-video size control is available on devices that support front-camera recording, which can help with presenter-style clips. Find or change where recordings are saved
Open Gallery and look for the Screen recordings folder. Samsung’s UK and Canada guidance gives the default storage path as Internal storage > DCIM > Screen recordings. On supported devices, Screen recorder settings may let you change the save location; labels and available controls differ by software.

Expand the Quick panel fully and look for the tile among the additional controls.

Open the Quick panel’s edit controls and add Screen recorder if it appears in the available buttons. Samsung Gulf documents this method: Samsung Gulf’s Screen recorder guide.

Check Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recordings, if those labels are present on your device. Menu names and paths can change across models and software versions.

Confirm support for your exact Galaxy model and region. Samsung lists different supported and unsupported models on its regional pages, so the absence of a tile alone does not establish whether your phone supports the feature. See Samsung UK, Samsung Canada, Samsung Gulf and Samsung Japan for regional guidance.
Samsung Gulf describes Screen recorder availability on Galaxy devices running One UI 2 or later, but that broad guidance does not mean every model is supported. Check your local support page for your specific phone.

Samsung UK states that devices running Android 10 with One UI 2.5 are limited to one hour or 4 GB per recording. Its guidance for Android 11 with One UI 3.0 or later does not state a time or file-size limit. That is not a guarantee of unlimited practical recording: available storage and device behavior still matter, and support varies by model and software. These limits are described in Samsung UK’s screen-recording guidance.
Copyright-protected photos, videos, apps or websites may block capture, leaving the recording blank or unavailable. Samsung US also says Screen recorder does not record phone calls, VoIP calls or video calls; it is not a call-recording method. See Samsung US’s guidance.
