If you mean Walmart’s structured product catalog, an authorized Marketplace seller can use Walmart’s Item Search API to look up items by keyword or supported identifier. It is a seller-catalog API—not a documented general-purpose API for reproducing every result on Walmart.com’s consumer search pages. If you need consumer-page data, the official material cited here does not establish a stable extraction method or permission to scrape those pages.
First decide which Walmart search you mean
“Walmart search results” can mean two different things: records in the Walmart Marketplace catalog, or the product listings a shopper sees on Walmart.com. The distinction determines which approach is supportable.
- Marketplace seller catalog lookup: Walmart documents an Item Search API for keyword or identifier searches, in seller catalog and item-setup workflows. It requires authorized API access.
- Consumer-facing Walmart.com results: The official API references cited here do not establish that Item Search reproduces the shopper-facing page, nor do they establish stable page-extraction mechanics or permission to scrape it.
For seller work, use the official API and its documented fields. For consumer-page collection, check Walmart’s current terms and access restrictions and establish that the method is permitted before building a scraper. Do not treat the seller API as a workaround for those unanswered questions.

Use Item Search for seller-catalog lookups
The US Marketplace Item Search endpoint is GET https://marketplace.walmartapis.com/v3/items/walmart/search. For a standard DEFAULT search, send a descriptive keyword in query, or search by a supported product identifier. Walmart’s US reference documents up to 40 matching items for keyword and identifier searches; this is an API limit, not a promise that every query returns 40 items.
#1 Best Overall
Before calling it, complete Walmart Marketplace onboarding and obtain authorized API credentials and an access token. Each request requires the token, a unique WM_QOS.CORRELATION_ID, and WM_SVC.NAME. Walmart’s guide describes WM_CONSUMER.CHANNEL.TYPE as optional in its request workflow. Follow the current Walmart reference for the exact token placement and header values for your account and market rather than assuming a public unauthenticated endpoint.
US keyword request with cURL
Set the bearer-token value and service-name value as required by your Walmart integration. Generate a fresh GUID for each call; do not reuse a fixed correlation ID in production.
curl --get "https://marketplace.walmartapis.com/v3/items/walmart/search"
--data-urlencode "query=coffee maker"
--header "Authorization: Bearer $WALMART_ACCESS_TOKEN"
--header "WM_QOS.CORRELATION_ID: $CORRELATION_ID"
--header "WM_SVC.NAME: $WM_SVC_NAME"
--header "Accept: application/json"
The header names and endpoint above are documented; the literal token format and service-name value must come from your authorized Walmart setup. Add the optional channel-type header only if applicable to your workflow. See Walmart’s US Item Search reference for the current request contract.

Python request pattern
This example uses a token and request values already obtained for an authorized integration. Supply a newly generated correlation GUID on each invocation.
import os
import uuid
import requests
endpoint = "https://marketplace.walmartapis.com/v3/items/walmart/search"
headers = {
"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['WALMART_ACCESS_TOKEN']}",
"WM_QOS.CORRELATION_ID": str(uuid.uuid4()),
"WM_SVC.NAME": os.environ["WM_SVC_NAME"],
"Accept": "application/json",
}
response = requests.get(
endpoint,
params={"query": "coffee maker"},
headers=headers,
timeout=30,
)
response.raise_for_status()
result = response.json()
print(result)
Use the authentication format and any additional headers specified for your Marketplace credentials. A successful request with no match may return an empty JSON object, so do not assume that every successful response contains an item array.
Node.js request pattern
With a modern Node.js runtime that provides fetch, the same request can be formed as follows:
Rank #3
- Keep track of everything from attendance to test scores
- Spiral bound
- Measures 8-1/2" x 11"
import { randomUUID } from "node:crypto";
const endpoint = new URL(
"https://marketplace.walmartapis.com/v3/items/walmart/search"
);
endpoint.searchParams.set("query", "coffee maker");
const response = await fetch(endpoint, {
headers: {
Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.WALMART_ACCESS_TOKEN}`,
"WM_QOS.CORRELATION_ID": randomUUID(),
"WM_SVC.NAME": process.env.WM_SVC_NAME,
Accept: "application/json",
},
});
if (!response.ok) {
throw new Error(`Walmart API returned HTTP ${response.status}`);
}
const result = await response.json();
console.log(result);
These examples illustrate the documented GET endpoint and required request-identification headers. They do not obtain credentials or replace Walmart’s onboarding and current authentication instructions.

Keyword or identifier lookup in DEFAULT format
Use query for a descriptive term such as a product type or brand. Walmart’s US guide identifies UPC and GTIN, and also EAN and ISBN for the US market, as supported identifiers. Check the market-specific reference for accepted identifiers and behavior; do not assume every identifier works in every market or format.
SPEC format for item setup
SPEC is documented for US item-setup workflows. Supply exactly one identifier—UPC, GTIN, EAN, ISBN, or ASIN—and do not send query. ASIN is supported only with responseFormat=SPEC. Depending on the match, the response can provide item-setup data (MP_ITEM) or a match to a live catalog item (MP_ITEM_MATCH). Consult the US reference for the exact parameter syntax and response schema before wiring those cases into an importer.

Use Catalog Search when you need catalog filters and pagination
Walmart documents a separate Marketplace endpoint, POST https://marketplace.walmartapis.com/v3/items/catalog/search, for searching the seller catalog by attributes, applying filters, sorting, and retrieving pages. It is not the same operation as the GET Item Search lookup.
Catalog Search supports limit, page (starting at 0), and nextCursor pagination controls. Walmart’s pagination guide gives a default limit of 100. A default is not necessarily the most suitable page size for your workflow; use the current API documentation to construct the POST body, follow pagination until the response indicates there is no next page, and avoid assuming a fixed number of pages.

What results mean—and what they leave out
- Results are catalog records, not a guaranteed copy of the shopper page. The official references describe Marketplace catalog and item-setup workflows.
- Published status matters. Item Search returns currently published catalog items. Unpublished items—including out-of-stock items or items affected by publishing restrictions—are absent. An empty match therefore does not prove that a product has never existed.
- No-match responses can be empty JSON objects. Treat an empty object as a possible successful no-match response, and distinguish it from HTTP errors or malformed responses.
- Market coverage is not uniform. Global Marketplace documentation names the US, Canada, Mexico, and Chile, but attributes and availability vary by marketplace. Use the guide for the relevant market instead of carrying US identifier assumptions or response expectations across regions.
Consumer-page scraping: what the official APIs do not establish
If the requirement is to collect the rendered search page a shopper sees—rather than query the seller catalog—the cited Walmart documentation does not establish a supported page-scraping endpoint, stable HTML selectors, or permission to automate that page. Search-page layouts and displayed products should not be inferred from the Marketplace API’s catalog results.
Before collecting consumer-facing page data, review Walmart’s current terms and applicable access restrictions for your use case. Do not bypass CAPTCHAs, bot checks, or other access controls. The sources cited here do not settle whether a particular scraping use is permitted. If the goal is only to keep a visual record of a page you are allowed to capture, a screenshot is a different output from a structured product-data feed.
Troubleshooting common failures
- 401 or authorization failure: Confirm the integration has completed the required onboarding, the access token is current, and it is supplied in the exact manner the current Walmart authentication guide requires. A token placeholder in sample code is not a credential.
- Request rejected for missing metadata: Check that each request includes
WM_QOS.CORRELATION_IDandWM_SVC.NAMEwith acceptable values. Generate a distinct correlation ID for each call. - Unexpectedly few matches: The US Item Search reference documents up to 40 matches, and only currently published catalog items are included. If you need structured seller-catalog filtering and pagination, evaluate Catalog Search rather than expecting Item Search to behave like an unrestricted consumer search.
- Empty response body represented as
{}: A successful no-match result may be an empty JSON object. Check the HTTP status and parse the documented response shape before treating it as a transport error. - Identifier search returns nothing: Verify the identifier type is supported for the selected market and response format. In SPEC mode, use one identifier only and omit
query; ASIN is limited to SPEC. - Missing items or availability differences across countries: Marketplace attributes and availability vary. Confirm the endpoint path and market-specific documentation match the account and marketplace being queried.
- Consumer search page differs from API results: These interfaces have distinct purposes. Item Search is documented as a seller catalog lookup, not a guarantee of parity with Walmart.com’s displayed search results.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a structured Walmart product-search API. Use it when you need a visual capture of a page, not product records or a substitute for Marketplace catalog access. One request can capture a Walmart search page you are permitted to access:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.walmart.com/search?q=coffee%20maker -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be disabled. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. An MCP server gives AI agents tools for screenshots, page information, and PDF capture. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
