For a featured character, plan around a worst-case ceiling of 180 Character Event Warp wishes if you have no pity or featured guarantee saved: up to 90 wishes for a five-star, then up to 90 more if the first five-star is not featured. Existing Character Event Warp pity and an active featured guarantee can reduce that target. Count Star Rail Special Passes as well as Stellar Jades, and use the live in-game exchange rate and banner details to calculate what remains.
How many wishes should you save for a featured character?
HoYoverse’s Help Center says a five-star character is guaranteed within 90 wishes on a Character Event Warp. When that five-star arrives, there is a 50% chance it will be the featured character. If it is not, the next five-star is guaranteed to be featured. These rules mean the conservative maximum from a fresh counter with no featured guarantee is 180 wishes for the target character; that is a worst-case planning ceiling, not an estimate of typical luck or an expected cost. To set your own target, first check your Character Event Warp history or details in the game. Your account’s current count and guarantee status determine how much of the ceiling remains. The Help Center explains the rules, but does not show your personal pity count.

- Some pity, but no featured guarantee: subtract valid Character Event Warp pity from the next-five-star leg; if that five-star is not featured, budget up to 90 wishes for the following one.
- Featured character already guaranteed: budget only for the wishes remaining until your next five-star.
These are conservative caps based on the published guarantees. They are not predictions of how many wishes a particular account will actually need.
Which pity carries over between banners?
The two Character Event Warps share their pity and featured-guarantee status. If you stop wishing on one character banner, that Character Event Warp progress carries to a later Character Event Warp. HoYoverse’s Help Center describes the shared counters; its Version 3.3 notice also states that the guaranteed five-star count carries between Character Event Warps and is separate from other Warp types. Light Cone Event Warp pity is separate. Do not add Light Cone wishes to your character-banner pity calculation or spend the character fund there if your priority is the featured character. HoYoverse states that a five-star Light Cone is guaranteed within 80 Warps on its banner, with guarantee counts independent from Character Event Warps. HoYoverse Help Center: Warp guarantee guidance.
How to calculate your remaining savings goal
- Choose a target and window. Confirm the character’s banner dates and availability from the current in-game Warp page or official notice. Banner lineups are version-specific; for example, the Version 4.4 notice only describes the banners available in that version, not a current schedule. Version 4.4 event warp notice.
- Record Character Event Warp status. Use your Warp history or details to note the wishes since your last five-star and whether your next five-star is guaranteed featured.
- Set the wish target. Use the remaining distance to the next five-star, then include a second five-star leg only if the featured character is not already guaranteed. From a fresh counter without a guarantee, the maximum is 180 wishes.
- Subtract usable passes and convert the rest. Count Star Rail Special Passes you already hold for Character Event Warps. For the remaining wish goal, check the current in-game shop or Warp displays for the Jade exchange before calculating a Stellar Jade total; verify the rate in the client rather than relying on an unverified figure.
- Estimate only rewards you can actually claim. Review current event notices, unclaimed progression rewards, and recurring modes before deciding whether the banner window is realistic for your account.
Where future Stellar Jades and passes may come from
Your available savings depend on account progress and which events are live. Official notices document recurring mode rewards, but they do not establish a universal current free-to-play Jade total per patch or a stable daily income figure. Build your estimate from the rewards visible to your account rather than assuming every player earns the same amount.

Weekly progression rewards
After the Version 4.2 update on April 22, 2026, Simulated Universe and Currency Wars point rewards were merged into a cyclical progression that refreshes weekly on Monday at 04:00 server time. The official notice says the cycle includes Stellar Jades and Star Rail Passes and that the reward amounts matched the original point-reward system, but it does not support quoting a current numeric Jade total here. Alternating endgame modes
Apocalyptic Shadow, Pure Fiction, and Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos refresh on alternating schedules, according to the Version 4.2 update notice. Check which mode is active and which rewards your account can still claim. The same notice documented a 1,600-Stellar-Jade anniversary gift with a claim window in April–June 2026; that dated reward is historical and should not be counted as currently available. One-time, limited, returner, and paid rewards
Separate recurring rewards from one-time progression content and limited-time events. Do not include expired event rewards in a future-banner budget. Starlit Homecoming has eligibility restrictions, so count its check-in or bonus rewards only if the current in-game page confirms your account qualifies. Starlit Homecoming notice.
Nameless Glory and Nameless Medal are optional paid Nameless Honor tracks, not free-to-play income. The Version 4.2 notice lists version-specific rewards; consult the current in-game page for present details and do not carry historical figures forward as a standing offer. How to keep a character fund intact
- Track character-banner pity and guarantee separately from Light Cone Warp progress.
- Keep a simple running total of Star Rail Special Passes, Stellar Jades, remaining wishes to the next five-star, and featured-guarantee status.
- Recheck the banner dates and currently claimable rewards when a new official notice appears; older notices do not establish what is available now.
- If the conservative wish target is not yet covered, decide whether to keep saving or accept the risk of reaching the banner without enough for the worst case.
