To save a login in Firefox on iPhone, open the Firefox menu, go to Settings, then the password settings and turn on Save Passwords. Sign in to a website and accept Firefox’s save prompt. You can later find the login in Saved Passwords or choose it from the prompt Firefox shows when you tap a login field.
Turn on password saving in Firefox
- Open Firefox on your iPhone and tap the menu button.
- Tap Settings.
- Open Autofills & Passwords. This is the label in Mozilla’s April 2025 instructions; the route or wording may differ in a newer version.
- Turn on Save Passwords.
- Sign in to a website. When Firefox asks whether to save the login, accept the prompt.
Firefox can also offer a generated password on a signup form. If you choose Use strong password, Firefox fills the suggested password and saves it. This is optional; it is not needed to save a password you already use. Mozilla Support’s “Generate strong passwords in Firefox for iOS,” updated April 8, 2025, describes Firefox’s built-in password generator as a way to create strong, unique passwords.

Find, view, edit, or delete a saved password
- Open the Firefox menu and tap Settings.
- Open the password settings and choose Saved Passwords.
- Select the website and then the login you want to manage.
To change the username or password, tap Edit. In edit mode, tap the password field to reveal the stored password. Mozilla’s guide also describes touching and holding the password field to reveal it. Choose Delete to remove that saved credential.

Mozilla’s menu guidance, updated September 30, 2025, says the redesigned menu provides access to saved passwords from Firefox Home and the website menu. The redesign is included by default starting with the general rollout of Firefox 142, and updating the menu does not remove logins. If you do not see those shortcuts, use the password settings in your installed version.

Use a saved password to sign in
- Open the website’s login page in Firefox and tap the username or password field.
- Choose Use a saved password when Firefox offers it.
- Select the correct login. If you have more than one saved login for the site, choose the username you want.
The credential card also includes a Manage passwords route for opening the saved-login controls.
Add a password manually if Firefox did not prompt you
If Firefox did not offer to save a login, you can add it yourself. Mozilla’s iOS manual-add guide was last updated September 3, 2021 and uses older labels, so the wording on your current app may differ.

- Open the Firefox menu, then Settings.
- Open the login or password settings.
- Tap the add icon.
- Enter the website address, username, and password, then save the entry.
Sync Firefox passwords to another device
Saving a login on your iPhone does not by itself make it available on another device. For cross-device access, sign in to a Mozilla account and enable login syncing. Mozilla’s instructions, updated April 1, 2026, say to open Firefox Settings, tap the Mozilla account, and turn on Logins. Sync runs at regular intervals, and Firefox offers an option to start a manual sync. Mozilla also requires login sync when Firefox is used for system-wide password autofill.

Protect saved logins and know where to look
Mozilla documents optional access protection for stored logins using Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. Availability depends on the iOS version and device, and the support instructions date to September 30, 2023, so check the current privacy or password settings in your app rather than relying on an older menu path.

Firefox’s saved-password list is separate from Apple Passwords and other password managers. The Firefox workflow does not establish that credentials saved elsewhere are automatically imported. If a login is missing from Firefox, check the manager where you originally saved it.
