To send Galaxy phone audio to Bluetooth headphones or a speaker, connect the Bluetooth device, open the Quick Panel, tap Media or Media output, and select it. For different routing—such as sending one app to Bluetooth while other audio stays on the phone—use Separate app sound in Settings. To play the same media on two Bluetooth devices, use the multi-output option if your Galaxy model offers it.
These are separate controls, and Samsung notes that feature availability and menu labels vary by model, software version, and region. The steps below explain which one fits your goal.
Choose the routing method that matches what you want

If your goal is to play different apps through two separate Bluetooth devices, do not assume these controls support it. Samsung describes Separate app sound as routing selected apps away from the main output, and Dual Audio as sending the same media to multiple Bluetooth devices; its reviewed documentation does not establish different apps on two Bluetooth outputs.

Before you start: connect the Bluetooth device
- Pair your Bluetooth headphones or speaker with the Galaxy phone and confirm it is connected. You do not need to buy new hardware if you already have a compatible device.
- Keep the device connected while choosing an output. In particular, Separate app sound may show its Bluetooth option only when a Bluetooth device is connected. Samsung US Support
Route current media to one Bluetooth device
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Panel. Swipe down again if needed to expand it.
- Tap Media or Media output. The label and placement depend on the Galaxy model and software.
- In the output list, select the connected headphones or speaker. If prompted, confirm the selection.
- Resume or check playback to confirm the sound is coming from the selected output.
This control changes where currently playing media is heard; it does not set up separate routing for chosen apps. Samsung describes selecting the phone or a connected device through the Media panel. Samsung Canada Support

Route one app separately with Separate app sound
- Connect the Bluetooth headphones or speaker you want to use.
- Open Settings and search for Separate app sound. If search does not find it, look under Sounds and vibration; the exact path can vary.
- Turn on Separate app sound, then choose the app or apps to route.
- Choose the output for those apps: Phone or the connected Bluetooth device.
- Return to the selected app and check playback at the chosen output.
Separate app sound applies to selected app media, not necessarily every sound produced by the phone. Samsung states that it works only when the selected audio device differs from the phone’s main audio output device. Samsung US Support
Play the same media through two Bluetooth devices
- Pair and connect both Bluetooth headphones or speakers to the Galaxy phone.
- Open the Quick Panel and tap Media or Media output.
- If the panel offers multiple output selections, select both devices. Samsung describes this as playing the same media simultaneously on multiple Bluetooth devices; you can adjust volume through the media controls. Samsung Canada Support
If the second device cannot be selected or the multiple-output control is absent, the feature may not be available on that model or software version. Samsung’s Dual Audio guidance is model-dependent, so availability should not be assumed for every Galaxy phone. Samsung Gulf Support

If the output control or device is missing
- No Media or Media output button: Expand the Quick Panel and check its edit or panel settings. The label and placement vary across software versions. Samsung documents output selection through the Media panel. Samsung UK Support
- Bluetooth device absent from the list: Confirm it is paired and connected, then reopen the output control. For Separate app sound, Samsung notes the Bluetooth choice may appear only while a Bluetooth device is connected. Samsung US Support
- Separate app sound is unavailable or does not change output: Check that the selected app is listed, the Bluetooth device is connected, and the chosen output differs from the phone’s main output. Samsung documents this distinct-output condition. Samsung Canada Support
- Multiple Bluetooth outputs are not offered: The feature is not established for every Galaxy model. Check your phone’s current Settings and Samsung support information for your model and region. Samsung cautions that settings and feature availability vary. Samsung UK Support
