If alerts have stopped on your Samsung Galaxy, first check the affected app’s notification permission and categories. Then check whether the app is in Deep sleeping status or Do not disturb is suppressing alerts. If notifications appear but make no sound, check the separate sound settings. Samsung notes that menu names and paths vary by model and software version, so use Settings search or the closest matching option if your screen differs.
If nothing from one app appears

Open Settings > Notifications > App notifications, select the app, and turn on Allow notifications. On some Galaxy software, the app’s controls are under Settings > Apps > [app] > Notifications.

Open Notification categories, if available, and enable the categories whose alerts you want. If categories are missing, look under Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings for Manage notification categories for each app. Turn it on, then return to the app’s notification settings. Some apps do not provide categories.

In the app notification list, check whether the app is marked Deep sleeping. Samsung says notifications may not appear for an app in Deep sleeping status; allow the app if you want its alerts.

Open Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb. Turn Do not disturb off to resume unrestricted alerts, or configure exceptions if you want to keep it on.
These checks follow Samsung Singapore’s guidance for notifications that are missing or have no sound and Samsung US instructions for controlling app notifications.

If only some types of alert are missing
Check the affected app’s Notification categories and enable the specific category that corresponds to the missing alert. For a category that should sound or appear as an alert, inspect its individual allow and alert settings as well. Available categories and controls depend on the app and Galaxy software.
If notifications appear but are silent
This is a sound issue rather than necessarily a blocked notification permission. Go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume and raise Notifications volume. Then open Settings > Accessibility > Hearing enhancements and make sure Mute all sounds is off.

If Do not disturb should stay on
Do not disturb can suppress alerts without blocking the app itself. In its settings, configure exceptions for the notifications you want to receive. Depending on the device, options can include selected apps, calls and messages, alarms, and sounds. Also review notification-hiding controls: Do not disturb can hide alerts from the notification panel, status bar, pop-ups, or app badges. If the basic checks do not help
Samsung Gulf’s follow-up troubleshooting guidance for apps not sending notifications includes checking Power saving, Data Saver, lock-screen notification settings, background usage limits, app cache, and app or system updates. Treat these as additional checks rather than assuming any one setting is responsible; the steps and labels may vary by model.

Why the menu may look different
Samsung’s cited instructions cover different regions and Galaxy software versions, and the company cautions that settings and screen layouts can differ by model and version. If a path above is not present, search Settings for terms such as “App notifications,” “Notification categories,” or “Do not disturb,” then use the closest matching control on your device.
