To make app icons larger or smaller on a supported Samsung tablet running One UI 7, open Settings > Home screen > App and widget style and move the app-size slider. That changes icon size, not the artwork. Replacing the pictures on app icons is a separate question, and Samsung’s documented options vary by tablet, software version, and region.
Resize app icons in One UI 7
- Open Settings.
- Tap Home screen.
- Tap App and widget style.
- Drag the app-size slider left or right until the icons are the size you want.
Samsung’s One UI 7 guide illustrates small, medium, and large sizes. This is the documented built-in control for changing app icon size; the slider does not replace an icon’s artwork. Change the icon artwork: availability depends on your tablet
If you mean changing the picture shown for an app, rather than making the existing icon larger or smaller, the size slider is not the solution. The official guidance cited here does not establish one custom-art procedure that works across Samsung tablets.
Galaxy Themes should not be assumed to work on every tablet. Adjust the Home screen if you want a different overall look
Icon size is only one part of the Home screen. Samsung’s tablet guidance covers editing the layout, arranging shortcuts, making folders, adding widgets, and changing wallpaper. To enter edit mode, touch and hold an empty area of the Home screen. To add an app shortcut, swipe up to open Apps, touch and hold an app, then choose Add to Home. Use separate portrait and landscape layouts where supported
On supported Galaxy tablets, One UI 7 can use different Home screen layouts in portrait and landscape orientation. Samsung UK gives examples of portrait grids of 6×8 or 6×10 and landscape grids of 8×6 or 10×6. Those are examples, not options guaranteed on every tablet: available grids depend on the model and specifications, and can vary by region and software version. If you cannot find the size control
- Confirm your tablet’s software version and check whether the menu labels match Home screen > App and widget style.
- Look for differences in menu names or available settings; Samsung says these can vary by model, software version, and region.
- If your goal is custom icon artwork, do not treat a missing size slider as evidence that the icons can be replaced. Size and artwork are separate features, and a universal tablet procedure is not established by Samsung’s cited guidance.
