LG sound bar reset steps depend on the model, so identify the model number before pressing any button combination. For no sound or connection trouble, first check the input, volume, mute, cables, and audio output; reset only with the procedure listed for your model in its manual or LG support instructions.
Find your model before you reset
Look for the model number on the sound bar itself, its packaging, or its documentation. Then check that model’s manual or LG support page. The combinations below are examples from LG USA Support’s “[LG Audio] How can I reset the sound bar?” article, dated July 9, 2025; they do not cover every LG sound bar.

For the listed procedures, LG says the display shows “E2P CLR” and the sound bar powers off automatically. Turn it back on and check whether it operates. If the reset fails after “E2P CLR,” LG directs users to contact its service manager.

Check for no-sound problems before resetting
LG’s “No sound from connected external audio equipment” support article, dated November 5, 2025, recommends checking the whole signal path rather than assuming the sound bar needs a reset. Work through these checks:
- Turn up the sound bar and TV volume, and make sure neither is muted.
- Confirm the sound bar is set to the input or function connected to the TV or other source.
- For HDMI or optical connections, set the TV’s audio output to the external audio device or sound bar.
- Check that cables are connected securely and are not damaged.
- If you use a set-top box, check its volume and connection as well.
- Confirm that the source device is playing content and that the content has audio.
If there is still no sound from any connected device after those checks, LG says the sound bar may need repair. A problem limited to one source, input, or connection points instead toward that part of the setup.

Choose the troubleshooting path that matches the symptom
TV or wired source is silent
Check the selected input, the TV’s external audio output setting, mute and volume, and the HDMI or optical cable. If another connected source plays normally, focus on the silent source’s output setting and cable path before using a reset combination.
Bluetooth device will not pair or audio drops out
Put the sound bar into Bluetooth pairing mode, then select it as the active audio output on the intended TV, phone, or computer. Merely pairing a device does not guarantee that audio is routed to the bar. TV menu paths vary by webOS generation and settings, so follow the instructions for the TV model.

For dropouts or distortion, LG USA Support’s Bluetooth troubleshooting guidance, dated August 20, 2026, recommends keeping nearby wireless devices such as routers and microwaves at least 3 feet (1 m) away, and clearing obstacles where possible.
Wireless subwoofer or rear speaker has lost its connection
Sound bars, wireless subwoofers, and rear speakers may connect automatically. If a companion speaker is disconnected, check its connection indicator and press the pairing button on the back of the affected speaker as described in LG’s connection guidance. Keep the speaker close to the sound bar while reconnecting and away from sources of wireless interference.

Google Home setup will not connect
LG documents a separate reset sequence for the Google Home setup problem; it is not a universal reset procedure for every LG sound bar. In its November 4, 2023 support article, LG gives this sequence:
- Close the Google Home app.
- Unplug the product for 10 seconds, reconnect power, and turn it on.
- Hold the top-panel Mic Mute button for 5 seconds. The display should show “RESET,” and the product will reboot.
- Allow about 1 minute for the product to boot, then try the setup again.
When to contact LG or arrange repair
Contact LG support or arrange repair if the correct model-specific procedure does not complete, if the unit fails after displaying “E2P CLR,” or if no connected source produces sound after the basic checks. If your model is not listed above, use its exact manual or LG support page rather than trying a combination intended for a different model.
If a reset sequence requires a remote button and yours is missing or has a different layout, verify that any replacement remote is compatible with your exact model. LG notes that remote layouts differ; a remote advertised as universal should not be assumed to support every reset procedure.
