To report a Fortnite voice conversation, open the Sidebar, select the voice chat tab, choose Report Conversation, wait for the report to load, then select Submit. Act promptly if you want audio included: Fortnite’s voice-reporting feature covers only the most recent five minutes, and it must have been enabled before the conversation.
Report the voice conversation
- Open Fortnite’s Sidebar. If you are in a match, the game may take you directly to the voice chat tab.
- Select the voice chat tab.
- Choose Report Conversation.
- Wait for the report to load, then select Submit.
- Close the report screen and return to the game.
Epic’s voice reporting instructions describe this route. Interface labels can change, so use the labels currently shown in your Fortnite client.
What the voice report includes
When voice reporting is on, Fortnite captures audio on a rolling basis. Only the immediate previous five minutes are eligible for a conversation report; older audio is deleted. The audio is stored on your console or PC and sent to Epic for moderator review when a participant submits a report. Epic says it cannot access voice chat audio unless voice reporting is on and a participant submits a report. See Epic’s support explanation and its voice reporting announcement.
Voice reporting needs to have been enabled before the incident for audio evidence to be included. If it was off, you can still report the player, mute them, or block them; the conversation audio will not be attached. Epic explains this in its guidance for reporting without voice reporting enabled.

Report a specific player if audio is unavailable or you want to identify someone
- Open the in-game menu and select Report.
- Select Submit a report, then choose A player or sidekick.
- Select the player and the reason for the report, then accept to send it.
Epic also allows reports from a recently played player’s profile or the voice channel’s player list. This player-report route is distinct from Report Conversation: it identifies a player and reason, but does not provide the conversation audio. Follow Epic’s player-report instructions.
Choose the right reporting route

You can mute or block the player in addition to reporting. Epic’s voice and chat settings guidance explains the available controls and the distinction between Party Chat and Game Chat. Party Chat connects party members across supported Epic surfaces; Game Chat connects players in the same island instance when that island’s creator supports it.

What happens after a report
Epic says consequences depend on the severity and number of offenses. Possible actions include a warning, temporary limits on social features such as voice or text chat, or a permanent account ban. A report does not guarantee a particular outcome: Epic reviews reports to decide whether action is warranted. See Epic’s reporting misconduct policy.

Epic’s Community Rules cover bullying and harassment and state: “Threats of harm to yourself or others are taken seriously—don’t make them, especially as a joke.” If a situation involves a serious or immediate threat, Epic also identifies contacting local authorities as an option.
