If you find a fake GTA 6 gameplay post or a link offering a beta, download, giveaway, preorder, or account verification, don’t click, pay, or reply. Save the post’s details, report the specific item where you found it, and contact Rockstar Support if a Rockstar account is involved. If you shared money, passwords, or identity information—or downloaded a file—take recovery steps as well. Reporting can help flag abuse, but it does not guarantee removal or a refund.
Where do I report a fake GTA 6 gameplay video?
Report the exact video, Short, post, message, advertisement, or account on the service where it appeared. Before doing so, preserve enough information to identify what you saw: the post or account name, date, platform, and the claim or suspicious behavior. Keep relevant messages and transaction records. Don’t repost the scam link to warn others; describe it instead.
Report a YouTube video or Short
- Open the video or Short and select its More menu.
- Choose Report, select the closest applicable reason, and include useful details such as timestamps when prompted.
- If a channel is involved, report individual videos that appear to violate policy as well. YouTube says reporting a channel does not cause it to review that channel’s videos.
A report is reviewed; it does not automatically take content down. YouTube’s current instructions are in its Report inappropriate videos, channels and other content on YouTube help page.
Report content on other services
Use the service’s own in-app or website reporting control for the specific content or account. Reporting an individual item gives the platform a concrete post or message to review. Menu names and procedures differ by service, so follow the current controls shown in the app or its official help pages.

Should I report it to Rockstar?
Report suspicious activity involving your Rockstar account to Rockstar Support. Rockstar warns that scammers may impersonate official messages or use third-party services that ask for Rockstar account information; don’t provide credentials or recovery codes to them. Rockstar’s GTA Online reporting tools are for behavior and content inside GTA Online, not for reporting an external scam website. For in-game conduct, use Rockstar’s reporting guidance for GTA Online. Rockstar also directs players to its reporting resources for account-boosting scams; a scam link outside the game should be reported on the platform where it appeared, and suspicious Rockstar account activity should go to Support.

A video calling itself “GTA 6 gameplay” is not automatically a scam. Rockstar says fan gameplay uploads are generally welcome, but footage from leaked copies before the game’s official release will be taken down, regardless of how the game was obtained. The relevant distinction is what the post does: for example, whether it is a credential lure, fake download, or footage from a leaked copy. What should I do if I clicked a fake GTA 6 link?
Clicking alone does not tell you whether your information or device was compromised. Act based on what you entered, paid, or downloaded. Don’t use the suspicious page’s own link to verify an offer; go independently to a known genuine website or contact route. The FTC gives the same advice for suspected phishing: contact the company using a phone number or website you already know is real.

If you entered a password or account details
- If you can still access the account, change its password and change that password anywhere else you reused it.
- Enable two-factor authentication.
- If you lost access, use the service’s official account-recovery process—not a recovery link from the suspicious message.

If you downloaded or opened a file
Update your security software, run a scan, and remove any threats it identifies. Malwarebytes reported in August 2026 that some fake GTA VI demo pages copied a genuine announcement and used “Play Now” links that could deliver an executable named gta6_installer.exe. That is Malwarebytes’ specific threat analysis, not a finding attributed to Rockstar, and it does not mean every gameplay clip is malicious. Read the Malwarebytes report.

If you paid or shared identity information
If you sent money, contact the payment provider promptly using a trusted official channel. Whether a payment can be stopped or recovered depends on the payment method and circumstances; a report does not guarantee reimbursement. If you believe someone stole your identity, use the FTC’s IdentityTheft.gov for reporting and recovery guidance.

If you are in the United States, report scams and fraud at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Follow the prompts to choose a relevant category, explain what happened, and submit the report. The FTC says reports help it build cases, identify trends, and educate the public; they do not promise resolution of an individual loss. You can provide as much personal information as you are comfortable sharing. The FTC explains the process in How To Report Fraud at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
For identity theft, use IdentityTheft.gov rather than treating a general fraud report as a substitute for identity-theft recovery guidance. These are U.S. government services; readers elsewhere should use the appropriate national consumer-protection or identity-theft reporting authority.
What evidence should I keep?
- The platform and the specific post, video, Short, message, advertisement, or account involved.
- The account or display name, date, and a description of the offer or request—such as a beta download, giveaway, preorder, verification request, or demand for account information.
- Relevant messages and payment or account records if money or credentials were involved.
Keep evidence for platform, Rockstar, payment-provider, or government reports, but don’t click the link again to collect more details or share it publicly.
