To remove one saved printer from a Samsung Galaxy phone, open Settings, search for Printing, and use the printer service that contains the entry. In Samsung Print Service Plugin, open its menu, choose Add Printer, select the printer, then tap Forget Printer. A printer listed from previous use can also be forgotten from the print dialog. Turning off a print service is a separate action: it disables that service rather than removing one printer.
Forget one printer saved in Samsung Print Service Plugin
- Open Settings on your Galaxy phone.
- Search Settings for Printing, then open the Printing screen.
- Tap Samsung Print Service Plugin.
- Tap the three-dot or menu icon, then choose Add Printer to view printers added to the plugin.
- Select the printer you want to remove and tap Forget Printer. On some versions, you may need to press and hold the printer name before choosing that option.
The precise menu and capitalization can vary by device and software version. Follow the labels shown on your phone if they differ.
Forget a printer from the print dialog
If the printer appears because you used it before, start printing a document or photo and open All printers. Long-press the printer entry and choose Forget printer. The Samsung Print Service Plugin FAQ says the entry is removed the next time you print.
Turn off a print service instead
If you want to stop an entire printing service from being available, turn off its switch on the Printing screen. Samsung directs Galaxy users to find Printing through Settings search; the screen lists installed print services and lets you switch each one on or off. For Android generally, Google documents the path as Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Printing, then turn off the relevant service. Galaxy menu placement may differ.

Turning off a service is not the same as forgetting a printer: it affects the service, not just one saved printer listing. If a printer still appears while another service is active, check that service’s settings separately.

If the printer or menu is missing
- Check which print service contains the printer. Galaxy settings can list multiple installed services, and a printer saved in another service must be managed there.
- Confirm that you are looking in Samsung Print Service Plugin if you expect to see its Forget Printer option. The documented removal path is specific to that plugin; other services may use different menus.
- Menu names and steps can vary across Galaxy devices and Android versions. Samsung’s illustrated New Zealand guide, for example, was captured on a Galaxy S10+ running Android 9 and cautions that settings may vary.
- If the plugin is preinstalled, removing the app itself may not be available. The plugin FAQ and HP support describe disabling it, or in some cases removing updates, as alternatives.
