To reinstall the new Outlook app, uninstall new Outlook for Windows, then install it again from Microsoft Store. If the Store says it is already installed, select Open. Microsoft says Windows 10 must be version 17763.0 or later to download the app.
Before you begin: make sure it is new Outlook
New Outlook and classic Outlook are separate apps with different installation instructions. Check the app name in Start before removing anything. If you need classic Outlook, use Microsoft’s separate classic Outlook installation instructions, rather than these steps.
Uninstall new Outlook
Use the Start menu
- Open Start and find new Outlook for Windows. Expand its entry if needed.
- Select Uninstall and confirm if Windows asks.
If Start does not show Uninstall
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find new Outlook, select More, then choose Uninstall if that option is available.
Windows notes that some apps cannot be uninstalled from Settings, so the uninstall option may not appear for every app or configuration. See Microsoft’s Windows app removal guidance.
Install new Outlook again from Microsoft Store
- Open Microsoft Store and search for new Outlook.
- Select Get to install it. Microsoft documents the Store as the reinstall source in its Outlook troubleshooting instructions.
- If the Store indicates that the app is already installed, select Open.
Microsoft’s stated minimum for downloading new Outlook is Windows 10 version 17763.0 or later. Microsoft also documents new Outlook for Windows 11, including some devices on which it is preinstalled. If you use a work-managed device, your organization may control Store access; the consumer instructions do not specify every organization’s policy.

Open Outlook and add your accounts
Launch the app after installation and follow its setup prompts. If your accounts do not appear automatically, use the prompts to add them. The instructions do not establish a general guarantee about restoring account data or settings, so complete any in-app setup steps needed for your accounts.
If you are moving from Windows Mail or Calendar
Microsoft ended support for Windows Mail, Calendar, and People on December 31, 2024. Microsoft support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025. Those dates provide migration context; they do not change the Store reinstall procedure above. See Microsoft’s getting-started guide for new Outlook.
