Samsung’s Phone app can record calls on supported Galaxy devices, but the feature is not available everywhere. Samsung warns that “Call recording may not be supported in some countries.” Check your own Phone app for the recording control; a particular Galaxy model, carrier, or country cannot be assumed to support it.
How to record a call on a Samsung Galaxy

Make or answer a call in Samsung’s Phone app.

On the active call screen, look for a recording control. Depending on the phone’s interface, it may be under More options. Menu labels and placement vary, so this is a possible location rather than a universal path.

If you see the control, follow the on-screen prompt to start recording. If it is absent, open the Phone app’s settings and look for Record calls. The setting may not appear on devices or in regions where the feature is unsupported.

Samsung does not establish that changing permissions, installing another app, or connecting an accessory will unlock its native call recording. If neither location has a recording option, check support information for your specific device and region.

Why is the record-call option missing?
Availability depends on factors including country, device, carrier, software, and app version. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 announcement explicitly cautions that call recording may not be supported in some countries, but it does not provide a universal country list or guarantee for each model or carrier. Confirm availability on the phone you use rather than relying on another Galaxy owner’s menu or instructions.
Samsung’s call-transcription feature is separate from basic call recording. Samsung says Call Transcript on the Galaxy S25 requires a network connection to receive calls and a Samsung Account login, and is subject to country, language, device, and feature limitations. Those requirements describe transcription, not a way to enable call recording.

Where are Samsung call recordings, and how do you play them?
Samsung Electronics Service says recordings made with Samsung Phone can be played in the Samsung Voice Recorder app. Open Voice Recorder, select the call recording, and play it. If Voice Recorder is not installed, Samsung says it can be installed through Galaxy Store.

The exact screen and menu placement can differ by model and software. The cited instructions identify Voice Recorder as a playback route; they do not establish one universal folder path for every Galaxy device.

Samsung Phone and Google Phone are different
Some Android phones use Google Phone rather than Samsung Phone. Google documents a separate recording flow for supported devices and regions: its Phone app help directs users to Settings > Call recording. Use that path only if the phone actually uses Google Phone; it is not a Samsung Phone menu instruction.
Google says its app notifies both participants when recording starts and stops. That documented behavior applies to Google Phone and should not be assumed for Samsung Phone. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction, so check the rules that apply to everyone on the call and inform participants as required.
