You can’t follow a verified method to raise or lower an honor rank in GTA 6 yet. As of October 3, 2026, the game is unreleased, and no official guide confirms a conventional honor meter or lists actions that change one. Pre-release coverage instead describes a system called Criminal Profile; its reported details are not a tested walkthrough.
Is there an honor rank in GTA 6?
“Honor rank” is not an established official name for a GTA 6 mechanic. Pre-release reporting describes a Criminal Profile, but does not establish that it is a numeric good-versus-bad meter like Red Dead Redemption 2’s Honor System. The available information supports the possibility that consistent behavior affects how the world responds, not a confirmed rank with known points or thresholds.

Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson told PC Gamer: “There isn’t a right or wrong way to play this game, but consistent actions may have an impact in terms of how the world reacts to you and how the narrative plays out.” That statement suggests persistent consequences, but does not say which actions produce them or how large those consequences are. PC Gamer’s August 28, 2026 report discusses Criminal Profile alongside Wanted Level and compares it with RDR2’s Honor System.

A September 7, 2026 PC Gamer report, relaying information from TGG after a visit to Rockstar North, describes four profile labels—Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho—and a fifth “shattered” state. These are reported pre-release details, not states independently verified through playing the game. The report also says the exact effects on story outcomes were not established.

The labels alone do not reveal whether one is better, what behavior leads to each, or how a player might move between them. No verified action list or thresholds accompany these reports.
What you can and can’t do before launch
Because GTA 6 has not yet released, there are no verified instructions for changing Criminal Profile. In particular, no confirmed source establishes:

- Whether the system uses a score, and any point values or thresholds.
- How to recover from a reported profile state, including “shattered.”
- Whether profile states affect endings, NPC reactions, or both.
- A quick method for moving toward any particular state.
Claims that particular good deeds, crimes, or a particular “professional” play style will change your standing should therefore be treated as speculation, not reliable GTA 6 advice.

Release date and platforms
Rockstar’s official GTA VI product page lists a November 19, 2026 release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is set in Leonida and features Jason and Lucia. These are official product details; the Criminal Profile descriptions above come from attributed pre-release reporting.

Rockstar Support says the game has Standard and Ultimate editions. Its physical version is a box containing a digital download code, not a disc; code-region restrictions depend on the platform and the region associated with the account. Check Rockstar’s current regional listing before buying.

A dependable raise-or-lower guide will need reproducible in-game evidence, not just profile labels. To establish a method, testing should record the platform and game version, the starting profile, the exact actions taken, and any profile or NPC response that follows. Until those observations are available, the accurate answer is that the reported Criminal Profile may respond to consistent behavior, but how to change it—and what each state does—remains unconfirmed.
