Yes. A Twitch streamer or editor can start a raid from the mobile app by typing /raid ChannelName in chat, replacing ChannelName with the destination channel’s name. The app does not include Twitch’s Raid Browser, so you must choose the channel yourself. Viewers can also join raids on mobile.
Start a Twitch raid from your phone
- Open your live channel’s chat in the Twitch mobile app.
- Type
/raidfollowed by the channel name you want to send viewers to. For example:/raid TwitchPresents. - Check the raid pop-up. It shows the participant count and countdown; viewers can opt out before the raid begins.
- Select Raid Now to start sooner, or let the countdown finish. Twitch says the raid starts after 10 seconds or when everyone is ready; if you do not cancel or choose Raid Now before the countdown expires, it starts automatically.

What the mobile app does not include
The Twitch app does not have the Raid Browser. On the web, that browser can suggest channels and provide filters; on mobile, the chat command still lets you raid a specific channel, but it does not offer that discovery interface. If you have not chosen a destination, you may want to find the channel before beginning the raid.

When to raid and what viewers experience
Twitch recommends raiding at the end of a broadcast. If you start a raid while your stream is still live, viewers who follow the raid are redirected to the target channel, while new visitors to your channel can still see your stream.

Viewers can opt out during the countdown. A viewer who wants to join a raid can do so from a mobile device; Twitch also says a streamer or editor can start or join raids on mobile.
If the raid will not start
The target channel’s settings may block incoming raids. Twitch says those restrictions can include limits based on viewer count or account age, as well as optional group settings. Incoming raid settings are managed on the web, not in the mobile app. See Twitch’s raid settings guidance for the available controls.

Mobile broadcasting is separate from raiding
You do not need a separate broadcasting app or special equipment just to send or join a raid; the raid command is part of Twitch chat. If you are also broadcasting a game from your phone, Twitch’s mobile game broadcasting guide recommends Wi-Fi to support performance and reduce possible data charges. It also cautions that notifications and other visible screen content may be captured during a broadcast.
