T-Mobile currently advertises up to $1,200 off the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, but the phone is not an unconditional giveaway: the discount is delivered through bill credits and eligibility depends on the offer path, plan, and other terms shown to you. Before ordering, confirm whether your checkout requires a new line, an eligible trade-in, or both, and review the complete terms for your account.
What T-Mobile’s “free” offer means
T-Mobile’s current offers page uses the wording “The new Galaxy Z Flip8. It’s On Us” and advertises up to $1,200 off. The discount is applied as bill credits over as many as 36 months, rather than as an immediate reduction that makes the device obligation disappear. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is listed at $1,199.99 for the 256GB model on T-Mobile’s product page, with a displayed $0 monthly device payment over 36 months when the shown promotion applies. T-Mobile offers and its Galaxy Z Flip8 product page should be checked for the terms attached to your order.
The published pages describe different qualifying routes. The offers page lists a new-line offer and qualifying plans; the product page separately advertises up to $1,200 off with trade-in on Experience More or Experience Beyond. Do not assume that every customer can combine those routes or qualify under the same terms. The personalized offer and detailed terms in your order flow are the practical authority before you commit.

For the page’s “New Line Offer,” T-Mobile states that qualifying credit, a new line, and qualifying service costing $85 or more per month with AutoPay are required; taxes and fees are additional. Customers with recently cancelled lines may need to reactivate them. The page also says a $35 device connection charge and tax on the pre-credit device price are due at sale. These are the terms T-Mobile lists on its offers page; verify that the same conditions appear for your account and selected plan.
Trade-in route: verify it separately
The product page describes a separate route: up to $1,200 off with trade-in on Experience More or Experience Beyond. Because that description does not match the new-line emphasis on the offers page in every detail, check the actual trade-in and plan requirements in the offer terms before relying on it. Confirm the eligible device, its condition requirements, and the credit amount shown for your specific order. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip8 page may explain Samsung’s own trade-in program, but it does not establish eligibility for T-Mobile’s carrier promotion.

What you may owe upfront and over time
- At sale: T-Mobile lists tax on the pre-credit device price and a $35 device connection charge as due at sale for the new-line offer. Taxes are calculated on the pre-credit price, not simply on the advertised net price.
- During financing: The phone’s pre-credit price is financed, while promotional credits are distributed over as many as 36 months. T-Mobile says credits may take two billing cycles to appear.
- For service: The listed new-line offer requires qualifying service at $85 or more per month with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees. The plan cost is separate from the device credits.
Ask the order flow to show the financing amount, monthly credit, credit duration, plan charge, and upfront charges together. The pages do not establish that all customers will see identical charges or offers.

Paying off the phone early
T-Mobile says promotional credits end if you pay off the device early. Paying the remaining equipment balance does not preserve the future credits, so compare the payoff amount with the credits you would forfeit before making an early payment.

Closing the account or losing line eligibility
The promotional line must remain active and in good standing to receive credits. If you cancel the entire account before all credits are applied, the credits stop and the remaining equipment-financing balance may become due. T-Mobile advises customers to contact it before cancelling an account. See the current offer terms for the applicable conditions.
Other offer restrictions
T-Mobile describes the promotion as limited time, subject to change, and not combinable with some other offers. Check the terms at checkout rather than relying on an earlier advertisement or a quote from another customer.

Why you may see $1,100 in older coverage
T-Mobile’s July 22, 2026 launch announcement said the Galaxy Z Flip8 would be available August 7, 2026, and described a launch offer of $1,100 off—leaving $100—with a new line or eligible trade-in on certain plans. The current offers and product pages instead advertise up to $1,200 off. The launch release records the earlier promotion, not a guarantee of today’s deal; use the live terms attached to your checkout. T-Mobile’s July 22 launch announcement includes the dated launch details.

- Confirm the required plan, whether you need a new line or an eligible trade-in, and whether any recently cancelled line affects eligibility.

- Check the full pre-credit device price, bill-credit amount and duration, monthly financing, and how long credits may take to begin.
- Read what happens if you pay off the device early, cancel service, or close the account before the credits finish.
