Keep the Motorola-installed inner-screen protector in place, keep debris and objects out of the fold, and clean the display gently. Motorola warns against third-party inner-screen protectors and recommends authorized service if the factory protector bubbles, warps, or separates.
Keep the factory inner-screen protector in place
Motorola says the Razr Ultra’s pre-installed protector is developed for its folding display. Do not peel it off or add a third-party protector to the inner screen. Motorola warns that an additional protector may affect touch sensitivity, make the main display unresponsive, or damage the display. Its Razr Ultra 2026 care guidance says: “Don’t use third-party screen protectors.”
If the installed protector develops air bubbles, warps, or starts to lift, contact an authorized Motorola service center. Motorola recommends approved service personnel for replacement; trying to remove or replace the film yourself may damage the screen and create warranty issues. Advice can vary across Razr generations, so use the guide for your exact model year.

- Before folding the phone, check the inner screen and hinge area for anything that could be trapped, including cards, coins, keys, grit, or other objects. An obstruction can damage the display or prevent the hinge from closing properly.
- Do not press hard on the flexible screen, especially in its middle area, or use hard or sharp objects against it. Motorola cautions: “Don’t use excessive force to press the middle area of the screen.”
- Keep grit away from the phone. Dust can affect the hinge or display, even though the device has a limited dust-resistance rating.
A case designed for your specific Razr Ultra generation can help protect the exterior. Check the model-year fit before buying; a case should not be assumed to protect the inner flexible display.

Clean the display gently
For routine cleaning or liquid drops
Use a clean, soft, dry cloth to wipe the screen. Avoid paper towels and rough or abrasive cloths, which can scratch or otherwise harm the surface. If liquid lands on the screen, Motorola advises wiping it with a clean, dry cloth.
For disinfection
Motorola’s 2026 guidance permits gentle wiping with a cloth or wipe moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol or a Clorox Disinfecting Wipe. Turn the phone off first and keep moisture away from the charging port, microphones, speakers, and other openings. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the screen, submerge the phone in cleaning agents, or use bleach or abrasive cleaners. Understand the Razr Ultra’s water and dust rating
Motorola rates the Razr Ultra 2026 IP48 under IEC 60529. In controlled laboratory conditions, the phone was tested for submersion in still, fresh water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 30 minutes. That test result is not a promise of waterproofing: Motorola explicitly says the phone is “Not waterproof or dust proof.” Resistance can decrease with ordinary wear.

The rating covers protection from solid objects larger than 1 millimeter; it does not mean the phone is dustproof. Motorola warns that dust may shorten hinge life or damage the display. Avoid dust and grit, pressurized water, salt water, other liquids, and prolonged exposure to moisture. Motorola does not advise using the phone at the beach or pool, and you should not charge it while wet. These specifications apply to the 2026 model; check the guide for your Razr Ultra generation because ratings and care instructions can differ.

For a bubbling, warped, or separating factory protector, contact an authorized Motorola service center rather than attempting a replacement yourself. If the display is broken or otherwise physically damaged, Motorola says physical damage is generally outside standard warranty coverage. Coverage, repair routes, and costs depend on the device, plan, condition, and service option, so check current local eligibility and request a device-specific estimate through Motorola Support.
Motorola’s 2025 Razr Ultra user guide also provides generation-specific care instructions. Refer to the user guide for your own model rather than assuming every Razr Ultra generation has identical specifications or service terms.
