The dependable way to print a Samsung text conversation is to capture it as screenshots, then print those images. Samsung’s documented support guidance says direct printing of message threads is unsupported on the Android versions it lists, so screenshots are the native fallback. You can print the images from the phone if an Android-compatible printer is reachable over Wi‑Fi or a mobile network, or transfer them to a computer and use the computer’s normal print dialog.
This produces a paper copy of exactly what you captured—not an automatically paginated, searchable transcript. For a long conversation, plan the capture carefully and review every image before printing.
What Samsung officially supports
Samsung Customer Service Korea’s article, updated April 5, 2022, explains how to move messages and print them. For Android 12, 11, 10, Pie, Oreo and Nougat, it says direct printing of text messages is not supported and recommends printing a captured image instead: Samsung’s message-transfer and printing guidance. That is documented guidance for those versions and region; it is not proof that every later Galaxy software build has identical menus or limitations.

Android itself supports printing images from compatible apps. Google’s Android printing help notes that a screenshot can be printed when an app does not provide its own print command, provided a printer can receive data over Wi‑Fi or a mobile network: Android printing help. The exact labels and menu location vary by phone model, Android release and app.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Choose the route that fits your goal
| Route | Best for | What you need | Main trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screenshot, then print from the phone | A short exchange and a compatible printer already configured | Enough phone storage, a print service or compatible printer, and Wi‑Fi or mobile connectivity | Long threads require many images; the result contains only visible screen content and printer menus differ |
| Screenshot, transfer to a computer, then print | People who already print from a computer or need to arrange image pages first | A USB cable or another way to copy the screenshot files, plus a computer and printer | Adds a transfer step and still does not create a structured transcript automatically |
Both routes rely on screenshots. Neither route automatically recovers messages that were off-screen, deleted, hidden behind a “load more” control or stored in an attachment that was not visible in the capture.
Prepare the conversation before capturing it
- Decide the exact scope. Note the contact or group, date range and messages you actually need. This prevents missing a critical part or printing an unnecessarily large thread.
- Keep the original thread intact. Do not delete, edit or rearrange messages while collecting images.
- Check storage. Several high-resolution screenshots can consume meaningful space, especially when a conversation includes photos.
- Plan for privacy. Screenshots may include names, phone numbers, notification banners or unrelated conversations. Turn off previews and crop only after preserving an uncropped original if context matters.
- Wake the printer path first. If you intend to print from the phone, confirm that the printer is on the same reachable network or otherwise available to the enabled Android print service.
Method 1: Capture and print directly from your Samsung phone
1. Open the correct conversation
Open Samsung Messages or Google Messages and navigate to the conversation. Scroll to the first portion you need. If the app loads older messages only after you scroll, wait for them to appear before capturing. A screenshot records the screen at that instant; it does not include content above or below the visible area.
2. Capture each screenful
On most Galaxy phones, press the Side key and Volume down key together, then release. Samsung changes shortcuts on some models and software builds, so verify the combination in your phone’s screenshot help if it does not work. Capture overlapping screens when practical so a line at the boundary is not lost.
Some Galaxy models offer a scrolling-capture control after the first screenshot. Its availability and behavior depend on the app and software version. Treat it as an optional convenience, not as evidence that the entire conversation was captured; inspect the resulting image for skipped or clipped messages. If scrolling capture is unavailable or unreliable, use several ordinary screenshots.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
3. Review and organize the images
Open Gallery and inspect every screenshot at full size. Check that names, timestamps, message text and media previews are readable. Delete accidental captures, but keep the sequence unambiguous. Renaming files with an order such as 01, 02 and 03 can help when the gallery or printer sorts alphabetically.
For a long exchange, compare the bottom of one image with the top of the next. Repeated lines are preferable to a gap. If a message is cut off, return to the conversation and recapture it rather than assuming the printer will restore missing text.
4. Make Android’s print service available
Open Settings and search for Printing. Enable an installed print service or add a compatible service, following the options shown for your Galaxy model. The printer must be reachable over Wi‑Fi or a mobile network; a USB-only printer may not appear in the phone’s print list. Android’s official instructions describe the supported connection types and version-dependent menus at Google Android Help.

In Gallery, select the screenshots, then choose Share, More or the three-dot menu and look for Print. The wording differs by Gallery version and print service. Select the printer, paper size, orientation, color option and number of copies, then preview the pages if the dialog offers a preview. Print one test page first; it is cheaper and faster to correct scaling or cropping before sending the entire set.

If Gallery has no Print command, open the image in another installed app that exposes Android’s print workflow, or use the computer method below. The absence of a Print button does not mean the screenshot is unusable; it means that particular app or version does not expose printing in that menu.
Method 2: Transfer screenshots to a computer and print
1. Copy the image files
Connect the Galaxy to a computer with a data-capable USB cable, unlock the phone and choose the file-transfer option if prompted. Browse to the screenshots folder, usually under the phone’s internal storage, and copy the files to a clearly named folder. You can also use another private transfer method already available on your devices; preserve the original image files rather than sending a compressed preview.
2. Arrange the pages
Open the images in the computer’s photo viewer or a document editor. Sort them in conversation order and choose portrait or landscape orientation based on the message layout. Avoid enlarging a low-resolution screenshot beyond the point where letters become blurry. If you place multiple images on one sheet, leave enough margin to keep timestamps and sender names visible.

When you need a complete, searchable message archive
A screenshot printout is a visual record of selected screens. It is not a database export, plain-text file or guaranteed complete history. You may need a different process if your goal is searching thousands of messages, preserving every attachment or creating a structured archive.
Smart Switch is for backup and transfer
Samsung describes Smart Switch for PC as a way to back up and move message data. The cited guidance does not establish that Smart Switch creates a human-readable, paginated transcript suitable for printing. Use it when you need a device backup or migration, not as a promise of a ready-to-print document.
Carrier tools may differ
Samsung notes that some carrier applications may support message backup, depending on the carrier and phone model. Check the carrier’s current documentation for your exact account and device. A backup feature may protect data without offering a printable export.
Google Messages and cloud synchronization
Samsung says Google Messages is available on Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 8.0 or later, and that messages can be transferred or synchronized using Smart Switch or Google Drive: Samsung’s Google Messages information. That page does not say that Google Messages exports a conversation directly to a printable PDF or plain-text file. If you switch apps, confirm that the messages you need are visible in the new app before capturing anything.

Samsung Messages availability is changing in the United States
Samsung’s US notice says the US market is affected by a Samsung Messages discontinuation, and that Galaxy S26 and newer devices cannot download Samsung Messages from the Galaxy Store: Samsung Messages notice. This is geographically bounded and can change. Do not assume that every Galaxy phone uses the same messaging app; check the app installed on your device and the current notice for your market. The screenshot method works from whichever supported messaging app actually displays the conversation.
Troubleshoot common printing problems
The printer does not appear
- Confirm the printer is powered on and connected to the same reachable Wi‑Fi network as the phone, or that the printer service supports the available mobile-network route.
- Search Settings for Printing and enable the relevant service. A phone update can disable or replace a service.
- Restart the printer and phone, then try printing one image rather than a multi-image batch.
- If the printer is USB-only or remains undiscovered, transfer the screenshots to a computer and print from there.
The page cuts off text or timestamps
- Use the print preview to switch between portrait and landscape.
- Choose a fit-to-page or similar scaling option when available, but inspect small text for legibility.
- Print a single screenshot again with different margins before sending the whole set.
Messages are missing between screenshots
- Return to the conversation and recapture with a deliberate overlap between images.
- Make sure older messages have finished loading before you press the screenshot shortcut.
- Check that the app did not jump to a new message or collapse media while you were scrolling.
The printed text is too small
Do not place several full-screen captures on one sheet simply to save paper. Print one image per page or use larger paper if necessary. A screenshot can only preserve the resolution displayed by the phone; it cannot recreate text that was already too small or blurred on screen.
The app has no print option
Use Gallery’s Share or More menu, try the Android print workflow from an app that supports it, or transfer the files to a computer. Android’s help page explicitly treats screenshots as the fallback for apps that do not support printing: Android printing help.
Privacy, completeness and evidentiary limits
Before handing pages to another person, inspect every image for private contacts, notification content, account identifiers and unrelated messages. Store the originals securely and avoid editing them in a way that removes context. If you crop for readability, retain the uncropped originals separately.
For a long conversation, screenshots can omit messages outside the captured view, fail to include attachments and make chronology harder to verify if files are renamed or printed out of order. The available Samsung guidance does not establish a Samsung-native workflow that produces a complete evidentiary transcript. A printed screenshot should therefore be presented as a copy of captured screen images, not as a guarantee of authenticity, completeness or legal admissibility. If those issues matter, ask a qualified professional what documentation your situation requires.
Practical checklist
- Identify the exact conversation and date range.
- Capture every needed screen, with overlap between consecutive images.
- Review names, timestamps, text and attachments at full size.
- Number or otherwise organize the files in reading order.
- Enable a compatible Android print service, or prepare a computer transfer.
- Print one test page and correct orientation, scaling or margins.
- Print the complete set and compare the pages with the image files.
- Keep the original screenshots in a private backup.
Bottom line
For Samsung phones, screenshots are the officially documented practical workaround when direct message printing is unavailable. Print those images from the Galaxy over a supported Wi‑Fi or mobile-network printer, or copy them to a computer first. The method is reliable for a short, visible exchange, but it remains a screen capture—not a complete, searchable message export—so long or sensitive conversations require careful capture, ordering and verification.
