To make custom-shaped stickers with Cricut StickerPix, use the StickerPix Print + Cut machine and its dedicated StickerPix Print + Cut Sticker Sheets. In Cricut Design Space, start a sticker sheet, add artwork, adjust each sticker border, review the layout, and choose Make and then Go!. The machine prints the design, applies its laminate layer, and kiss-cuts the sticker shapes while leaving the sheet backing intact.

That workflow is different from StickerPix Print, which prints onto preset pre-cut shapes, and from Cricut’s separate Print Then Cut process, which uses a conventional printer and a cutting machine.

What Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut does

StickerPix Print + Cut combines printing and contour cutting in one compact workflow. You create the artwork in Design Space, place a StickerPix sheet in the material tray, and the machine produces a finished sheet of individual stickers. A kiss-cut passes through the sticker face but not the backing, so the stickers remain together on one sheet until you peel them away.

Cricut describes the printed result as water-, scratch- and fade-resistant and says a laminate layer is applied during printing. Those are manufacturer claims rather than independent durability-test results, so treat them as an expectation for the intended materials, not a guarantee for every environment or use.

StickerPix Print + Cut versus StickerPix Print

Capability StickerPix Print + Cut StickerPix Print
Sticker outline Custom outlines generated from your designs Preset, pre-cut sticker shapes
Printing and cutting Prints, laminates and kiss-cuts in the machine Prints onto shapes that are already cut
Supplies StickerPix Print + Cut Sticker Sheets and the compatible ink cartridge or refill StickerPix Print media and its corresponding supplies
Best fit Illustrations, logos, photos and other artwork that needs a custom contour Projects that fit the available preset shapes and do not need custom cutting

Cricut says the two models use different media and ink and are not cross-compatible. Do not put StickerPix Print sheets in the Print + Cut model or assume that a Print + Cut refill will work in the print-only model.

Do not confuse it with Print Then Cut

In Cricut terminology, StickerPix Print + Cut is an integrated product. The machine itself prints and cuts. Cricut’s broader Print Then Cut feature is a different arrangement: a separate home or office printer produces the page, and a compatible cutting machine reads registration marks and cuts it. Instructions for one process do not automatically apply to the other.

Specification Cricut-listed figure or description Practical meaning
Print resolution 300 DPI Use sufficiently large source images; a low-resolution upload can still look soft.
Printing method Dye-sublimation The machine is designed around its own cartridge and media system.
Sticker Sheet size 4 × 7 inches (Cricut also lists more exact metric dimensions in its Help Center) Keep all artwork inside the white canvas shown in Design Space.
Photo Paper size 4 × 6 inches Use the optional photo media for photos or photo cards, not as a substitute for StickerPix sheets.
Ink yield Up to 36 prints per cartridge A manufacturer allowance; actual yield depends on how much of each sheet is covered.
Content library More than 1.8 million sticker images claimed by Cricut Availability of particular assets, templates or tools can vary by account and region.

What you need before designing

  • A StickerPix Print + Cut machine with its cutting tool installed.
  • Cricut Design Space on iOS, Android, macOS or Windows.
  • An internet connection and Bluetooth connection, which Cricut lists as requirements for the machine.
  • StickerPix Print + Cut Sticker Sheets and the compatible Cricut ink cartridge or refill.
  • Optional Cricut Photo Paper if you also intend to make photo prints or photo cards.
  • A phone, tablet or computer with enough storage for your source photos and designs.

Complete the machine setup in Design Space before beginning a project. Select StickerPix Print + Cut as the machine type, pair the machine with your device, and make sure the supplied cutting tool is installed. Cricut warns that third-party sheets or ink can cause clogging, print defects or machine damage. The safest way to troubleshoot a print problem is therefore to return to the specified media and cartridge before changing software settings.

How to make a sticker sheet in Design Space

1. Open a blank sticker sheet

  1. Open Cricut Design Space and choose Stickers.
  2. Choose Blank Sheet, then select Start Designing. You can also start a new project and use Stickers → Blank Sheet → Start Designing.
  3. If you prefer a guided layout, begin with a Design Space template instead. The exact templates and paid-content requirements can change, so check what your account displays.

The blank sheet is the working area that corresponds to the physical StickerPix sheet. Leave a margin around the edge rather than placing artwork against the canvas boundary.

2. Add your artwork

Use the Design Space image library, shapes and text, or upload your own photos and designs. You can add a background and adjust image fills with the editing controls available in your version of Design Space. Cricut also documents Sticker Transformations for uploaded photos; the transformation styles shown may vary by software version, account and region.

On a blank sticker sheet, Cricut states: “Anything added to the Canvas will automatically become a sticker.” Each object therefore receives a sticker border and is prepared for a cut line unless you change that setting.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Set the border and non-sticker elements

Select an object and use the Border controls to change the border size or color. A larger border creates more breathing room around an illustration; a smaller border follows the artwork more closely. If an item should print but should not be cut as its own sticker, turn off the Sticker option in the Border controls.

That switch is useful for printed captions, decorative marks or a background that belongs inside another sticker. Without it, the object remains an independent sticker element.

4. Arrange, resize and merge

Resize each design and position it within the white sheet area. Design Space treats overlapping designs as separate stickers unless you merge them. Select the elements that should become one outline and choose Merge Sticker. This is important for a character with separate accessories, a badge with text, or any composition where a single outer contour is wanted.

Keep small details large enough to weed and peel comfortably. In an October 9, 2026 Tom’s Guide hands-on review, Lucy Scotting reported that some small detailed designs and photos benefited from adjustment. That is one reviewer’s observation, not a guaranteed result for every image, sheet or setting.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Inspect the mat preview

Choose Make to open the project preview. Confirm that every sticker appears inside the printable area, that no element is unexpectedly marked as a sticker, and that merged artwork has one intended outline. If anything is misplaced, return to the canvas before sending the job.

6. Send the job to StickerPix

When the preview is correct, select Go!. Design Space sends the design to the connected StickerPix Print + Cut machine. Follow the on-screen prompts for the selected material rather than substituting a generic sticker-paper setting.

7. Load the dedicated sheet

Place a StickerPix Print + Cut Sticker Sheet in the material tray, using the orientation and guides shown by the machine or Design Space. The sheet must be flat and free of lifted corners, dust and debris. Do not substitute StickerPix Print media, ordinary adhesive paper or third-party stock when trying to diagnose a feed or print issue.

8. Print, laminate and kiss-cut

The machine prints the artwork, applies its laminate layer during the print process, and then cuts the sticker outlines. Wait for the machine to finish before moving the sheet. The completed sheet should show cut lines around the stickers while the common backing remains uncut.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

9. Remove and test a sticker

Lift one corner of a sticker carefully and verify that the sticker face separates from the backing along the intended contour. If the backing has been cut through, the result is a die-cut rather than a kiss-cut and indicates that the material or machine setup does not match the specified workflow.

Kiss-cut, die-cut and laminate: the terms that matter

Kiss-cut

A kiss-cut cuts the adhesive sticker layer while leaving the backing sheet intact. It is the standard StickerPix Print + Cut result and is convenient for storing or handing out a full sheet.

Die-cut

A die-cut passes through both the sticker and its backing. StickerPix Print + Cut is not intended to produce separate backing-free die-cut pieces in one pass.

Laminate

Cricut says the machine applies a laminate layer as part of printing. Cricut also describes the finished prints as water-, scratch- and fade-resistant. Those descriptions depend on the specified materials and conditions; they should not be read as a laboratory rating for outdoor exposure, dishwashing or permanent immersion.

Choosing the right media and cartridge

Project Use Do not substitute
Custom-shaped stickers StickerPix Print + Cut Sticker Sheets StickerPix Print sheets, ordinary printer sticker paper or unapproved third-party media
Photo prints or photo cards Cricut Photo Paper, listed at 4 × 6 inches StickerPix Print + Cut sheets when the project is intended as a photo print
Ink The compatible StickerPix Print + Cut cartridge or refill StickerPix Print ink or a generic cartridge

Cricut says StickerPix Print refills and media are not cross-compatible with Print + Cut. Buy supplies by the exact model name, not merely by the word “StickerPix.” Cricut’s warning about third-party products includes possible clogging, print defects and machine damage.

Bundle contents and price context

When the product page was accessed for this article, Cricut listed a Machine + Essential Bundle at $299 and a Machine + Ultimate Plus Bundle at $379. These are volatile retail figures: taxes, country, promotions, stock and bundle contents can change, so verify the current listing before purchase.

Bundle Price shown by Cricut at the time of access Published contents or caveat
Machine + Essential Bundle $299 Cricut listed the machine, ink cartridge, 18 Sticker Sheets, 18 Photo Paper sheets, power adapter and pre-installed cutting tool.
Machine + Ultimate Plus Bundle $379 Bundle contents can vary; check the current product page for the exact list.

The ink-yield figure of up to 36 prints per cartridge is also a Cricut specification. A sheet with dense full-coverage artwork can consume more ink than a sheet containing a few small icons, so do not treat the number as a fixed number of identical projects.

Design decisions that prevent wasted sheets

  • Use high-quality originals: a 300 DPI printer cannot restore detail that was absent from a small or compressed upload.
  • Keep a peelable border: a narrow border can make a sticker harder to separate and can expose tiny edge defects.
  • Merge intentionally: merge only the elements that should share one outer contour; leave separate stickers unmerged.
  • Check photos at actual size: faces and fine text can lose clarity when reduced to a small sticker.
  • Fill the sheet sensibly: arrange multiple designs with enough space for each cut line and avoid placing important artwork at the edge.
  • Preview before printing: the Make preview is the last point at which a layout mistake costs no material.

Troubleshooting common problems

The machine will not connect

  • Confirm that Design Space is signed in and that the machine is selected as StickerPix Print + Cut.
  • Check Bluetooth on the phone, tablet or computer and keep the device close to the machine.
  • Confirm internet access, since Cricut lists internet as a requirement.
  • Power-cycle the machine and reopen Design Space if the connection does not appear.

The wrong sticker border appears

Return to the canvas, select the affected object and inspect the Border controls. Adjust the border size or color, or turn off Sticker when that object should print without an individual cut. Then use Make again and inspect the preview.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Several objects should have one outline but cut separately

Select the related objects and choose Merge Sticker. Overlap alone does not combine them; Design Space otherwise treats overlapping designs as separate stickers.

The sheet feeds poorly or the print has defects

Stop using the questionable sheet or cartridge and check that the material is the specified StickerPix Print + Cut stock, flat and clean. Cricut specifically warns that third-party supplies can cause feed, clogging, print-quality and machine-damage problems. Replace the sheet with approved media before attempting another print.

The result is cut through the backing

StickerPix Print + Cut is designed for kiss-cuts. Verify that the selected machine type and material are correct, and that you did not substitute media intended for another StickerPix model. If the problem persists with approved supplies, follow Cricut’s current support procedure rather than repeatedly running the same sheet.

Photos or tiny artwork look poor

Use a larger, less-compressed source image, increase the physical sticker size, simplify fine details and inspect the design at the intended output size. Scotting’s Tom’s Guide review similarly noted that some small detailed designs and photos needed adjustment during her test.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How fast is the process?

In a Tom’s Guide review published October 9, 2026, Lucy Scotting said she completed a sheet in roughly two to three minutes while testing the Print + Cut model with photo stickers and Design Space templates. That timing is a single reviewer’s firsthand observation. Your duration can vary with artwork coverage, connection time, loading, cartridge condition and the number of sheets in the job.

Who should choose StickerPix Print + Cut?

Choose it when you need custom shapes

The Print + Cut model makes sense for logos, character silhouettes, irregular labels, photo contours and other designs that do not fit preset shapes. Its integrated printing and cutting also avoids coordinating a separate printer with a cutting machine.

Choose the print-only model when preset shapes are enough

If your project fits StickerPix Print’s available pre-cut shapes, custom contour cutting adds complexity without solving a real problem. The print-only model is the more direct match for that use case, provided you buy its own media and ink.

Plan for consumables

StickerPix is a closed, model-specific media system. The machine’s convenience depends on keeping the correct StickerPix Print + Cut sheets and compatible ink available. That ongoing supply requirement matters as much as the initial machine price.
