Start with a Zelda melody you already recognize, then choose an arrangement labeled Easy Piano and preview its notation before you commit. Alfred Music offers both a licensed 33-song collection and a digital Easy Piano score for the Main Theme; a video tutorial can also provide a visual guide, but it is best treated as a supplement.

Which Zelda music should a beginner start with?

Pick a short, familiar melody rather than trying to learn a full soundtrack piece at once. Recognition helps you notice whether the notes sound right, and a short passage gives you a manageable place to begin. There is no established definitive “easiest” Zelda song, and Easy Piano is a product label, not a standardized skill threshold.

Preview the score if you can. Check whether you can read its note patterns and whether the arrangement looks comfortable for your current level. A familiar piece that you genuinely want to play is a better starting point than choosing by title alone.

Where to find Zelda piano music for beginners

Option What is established Consider it if
The Legend of Zelda Series for Easy Piano Alfred Music describes this officially licensed collection as containing 33 arrangements from across the series, including music from the original Zelda, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks. You want multiple songs in one collection and want to browse for a melody you recognize.
The Legend of Zelda Main Theme: Easy Piano Alfred Music lists an individual digital Easy Piano score for the Main Theme. You want to focus on that particular theme rather than choose among a collection.
Main Theme piano tutorial video A YouTube search result identifies a tutorial titled “HOW TO PLAY – Zelda Main Theme (Piano Tutorial Lesson).” Its accuracy and suitability for every learner have not been established. You prefer watching a demonstration alongside written music, and can assess whether the lesson’s pace and notation work for you.

These options differ in format and song coverage; the available information does not establish which teaches best. A video can help you see a demonstration, while sheet music gives you notation to read and revisit. If you use both, check that the video follows an arrangement you can read rather than assuming all versions match.

How to practise a Zelda melody

Use a small section of the score and build from what you can play comfortably. This is general practice guidance, not a method or outcome promised by the publishers.

  1. Listen to the melody in your memory. Choose a piece you already know by ear, so you have a reference for its shape and sound.
  2. Preview a short passage. Look at a few measures and identify any notes or rhythms that are unfamiliar before trying to play the whole piece.
  3. Work through the melody slowly. Keep the pace manageable enough to play the notes deliberately; increase it only when the passage feels secure.
  4. Add the other hand later. Once the melody is steady, work in the accompaniment or second-hand part in a short section at a time.
  5. Use a video as a companion, not a substitute for checking the score. Compare its pace and notation with the arrangement you are learning, and slow down or pause when you need to inspect a passage.

What “Easy Piano” does—and does not—tell you

The label helps narrow the search to arrangements marketed for an easier piano level, but it does not define a universal beginner standard. The sources establish which Zelda products are available and how they are labeled; they do not rank the songs by difficulty or promise that a first-time player will find every arrangement comfortable.
