Toshin is a 6v6 Black Ops 7 map built around a derailed monorail in a downtown shopping district. To play it well, stay close enough to teammates to avoid being isolated, check the upper walkways as you move, and use the Station vents to change elevation or flank. Koban Corner offers a powerful overlook, but its sightlines also make it a likely target.
Understand Toshin’s layout
Activision’s current multiplayer roster lists Toshin as a 6v6 map. The developer described it as medium-sized at launch in 2025; that is launch-era framing, not a measured map dimension. The setting is a tight urban shopping district, with the wrecked monorail at its center and Park, Market, and Station as major areas.
The map’s narrow streets and connected upper routes create a recurring trade-off: moving quickly can help you reach a useful angle, but pushing too far ahead can leave you exposed to players approaching from multiple directions. Keep track of teammates as you advance and look up for elevated sightlines rather than treating the ground route as the only path.
Where to position and how to rotate
Koban Corner rooftop — Alpha (A)
Koban Corner is one of Toshin’s strongest power positions. Its rooftop overlooks Park and Station, with a straight view toward the Monorail. Use the height to watch pressured areas and support teammates, but do not assume the angle makes the rooftop safe: opponents can focus return fire, and a fixed position can expose you to multiple approaches. The back route offers a way to flank ground-level opponents instead of repeatedly holding the same sightline.

Sign vent route — Beta (B)
Near the Park entrance inside Station, an elevator shaft leads down to Sign. From Sign, a narrow walkable path connects to Karaoke’s upper floor and provides coverage over the Monorail. This route changes your elevation and approach angle, which can help you reposition or surprise an opponent watching the street. The path is thin and exposed, so check the surrounding angles before crossing rather than sprinting through without cover.
Cat Café vent route — Gamma (Γ)
At the west end of Station, an open vent connects to a closet in Cat Café. Stairs from the closet lead back to the street, while Cat Café’s upper floor overlooks the monorail crash site. The vent can provide a quick escape or an unexpected approach, but the upper-floor view should be treated as a temporary angle, not a guarantee of safety.

Moving between the areas
- When advancing through the shopping streets, stay near teammates so a fast push does not become an isolated fight.
- Before crossing an open or narrow route, check for elevated opponents and consider whether a vent or back route gives you a safer change of angle.
- When a position comes under pressure, rotate rather than repeatedly challenging from the same exposed sightline.
Official loadout suggestions for Toshin
Activision’s Toshin guide suggests Hunter’s Instinct, which marks the direction of the next closest enemy after an elimination. It also recommends a setup built around Flak Jacket, Blast Link, Quartermaster, and a Cluster Grenade; the guide says Blast Link shares explosive-damage intel with the team. These are developer suggestions for the map, not evidence that the setup is optimal or the current multiplayer meta.
