There is no verified official way to get Star Wars: Galactic Racer for free. The official pages we checked show only paid Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s editions, and none mentions a free-to-play version, demo, trial, or subscription-catalog entry. The game launched on October 6, 2026, so the realistic no-cost options are narrow: check your store for a regional trial or promotion, or borrow a copy from someone who owns it.
Is Star Wars: Galactic Racer free?
Not according to the official sources reviewed. StarWars.com says the game launched worldwide on October 6, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The official game site describes Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s editions, all paid. This is a statement about what those sources verify. It is not a claim that no promotion exists anywhere, because stores run regional offers that these pages would not show.

Your no-cost options, ranked by evidence
| Route | Verified? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Free-to-play version | Not verified in official sources | Nothing to install. Be wary of any site offering a “free download.” |
| Demo or trial | Not verified | Search the game on your platform’s store and check the listing for a trial button or banner. |
| Subscription catalog | Not verified | Search your subscription’s catalog directly. Xbox’s Game Pass mention concerns online multiplayer, not inclusion of the game. |
| Borrowing a physical copy | Possible, not documented | Ask a friend or family member who owns it. It must match your platform, and physical Standard and Deluxe editions are only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. |
Check your store for a trial or promotion
- Open the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or your PC storefront on your own account, so you see your region’s listing.
- Search “Star Wars: Galactic Racer.”
- Look for a trial, demo, or “included with subscription” label next to the purchase button. If there is only a buy option, no such offer is listed for you.
Borrowing a copy
A disc lent by someone you know avoids a purchase. Availability depends on the platform, edition, region, and lender, and the sources reviewed do not describe any lending program. Digital copies are tied to the buyer’s account, so sharing them is subject to each platform’s own rules. Check those rules before relying on it.
Why “free” downloads are a bad idea
With a new, paid, high-profile release, claims of free keys, cracked installers, or “unlock” generators are a common route for malware and account theft. No official source supports any of them, so skip them.
#1 Best Overall
- The following games are included in the cartridge: STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (3.6 GB)
- STAR WARS Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (1.1 GB)
- STAR WARS Episode I Racer (254 MB)
- STAR WARS Republic Commando (2.5 GB)
- STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed (3.4 GB)
Free access is not the same as full access
Even once you own a copy, Xbox’s US store listing says online multiplayer on console needs a separately sold Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate subscription (Xbox Store). The game has a solo story-driven campaign and competitive PvP, per the PlayStation page. A borrowed copy on Xbox would therefore still need a subscription for PvP, while the campaign does not.
What you’d be getting
Official descriptions call it a runs-based, high-stakes racer set in the Outer Rim, with four craft classes: landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and podracers.
Rank #2

- Build your squad from clone troopers, scoundrels, astromechs and even a Jedi—combine abilities and gear in deep Tactical-Strategy combat.
- Plan at your base, adapt on dynamic battlefields and make decisions that shape missions and replayability in this cinematic Star Wars story.
- Customise Hawks and your operatives, tailor loadouts and unlock powerful squad synergies designed for Strategy, Turn-Based and Sci-Fi fans.
If you decide to buy
The Xbox US storefront lists Standard at $59.99+ and Deluxe at $79.99+. These are US prices, and other regions and platforms may differ or change. The official site says Deluxe adds vehicles, Arcade events, liveries, player banners, and a digital art book. The Collector’s Edition includes a metal landspeeder model, physical art book, patches, banner, and steel case. If you only want to play, Standard is the entry point.
The Bottom Line
Plan on paying or borrowing. Check your store for a regional trial before buying, and ignore any “free” offer that doesn’t come from the official storefront.
