Yes. Just Dance: Decades of Hits supports local play on one console, with Ubisoft advertising up to six players. You can use a smartphone as a controller, but Ubisoft has not published a title-specific, step-by-step pairing guide on the game page. The Nintendo Switch launch is scheduled for October 13, 2026; Ubisoft lists Nintendo Switch 2 availability from November 10, 2026. Both dates are future dates as of October 5, 2026.
What you need to play together
- A supported console with Just Dance: Decades of Hits. Ubisoft lists Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2; availability dates differ by platform.
- The game running on that console.
- A controller option supported by the game on your platform. Ubisoft advertises smartphone controller support, but its Decades of Hits page does not specify the exact controller arrangement or pairing steps for each console.
Nintendo’s listing identifies the Switch version as playable together on one console. Ubisoft advertises up to six players. Treat six as the advertised maximum, not a guarantee that every song or controller configuration behaves identically.

How to start a local session
- Choose a supported console and confirm that the game is available for it. The initial Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for October 13, 2026, while Ubisoft states that Nintendo Switch 2 availability begins November 10, 2026. See Nintendo’s Switch listing and Ubisoft’s launch announcement.
- Launch Just Dance: Decades of Hits on the console.
- Follow the controller instructions shown in the game for that platform. Ubisoft’s Decades of Hits page says a smartphone can be used as a controller, but does not provide a complete pairing walkthrough or specify how many phones are needed.
- Have friends join using the available controller option, then choose a song and begin dancing. The official title materials establish local group play and the six-player advertised maximum, but do not document the exact menus or local profile behavior.
Controller options: what is confirmed
Ubisoft advertises smartphone controller use for Decades of Hits. Its product page does not spell out which phone, console controller, or combination each platform requires. For context—not as confirmed setup instructions for this title—Ubisoft says Just Dance 2026 Edition supports up to six local players using Joy-Con controllers on Nintendo Switch or the free Just Dance Controller App on other available consoles. That is guidance for a different edition, so check the in-game prompts for the exact Decades of Hits setup.

Do not assume that phone-camera motion tracking is a group-play option. Ubisoft describes Camera Controller Mode as solo-only for Just Dance 2026 Edition; that does not establish that Decades of Hits includes the feature or supports several players through it.

Local play is not the same as online play
The official materials confirm playing together on one console. They do not establish whether Decades of Hits requires an internet connection or subscription for local sessions. If connectivity or subscription access matters to your setup, check the game’s on-screen requirements or a title-specific Ubisoft support page once available.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which console should you use?
Start with the console you already own, then check its release timing and the controller options supported in-game. Ubisoft lists the game for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and separately states Nintendo Switch 2 availability from November 10, 2026. The Switch listing and Ubisoft’s announcement give October 13, 2026 as the initial Nintendo Switch launch date. Those dates are future as of October 5, 2026. The reviewed official materials do not establish different Decades of Hits player limits by platform, so there is no supported basis for assuming one console allows more local players than another.
