To optimize an RTX 5060 Ti for 1080p gaming without sacrificing image quality, start at your display’s native 1920×1080 resolution and use a high-quality in-game preset. If performance falls short, compare native rendering with DLSS Super Resolution in Quality mode; if performance is already comfortable, try DLAA where available. Treat Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation as separate smoothness options, and judge them by image quality and responsiveness—not displayed FPS alone. These are sensible steps to test, not a universal preset: results depend on the game, its implementation, and your system.

What the RTX 5060 Ti offers for 1080p gaming

NVIDIA lists the RTX 5060 Ti with Blackwell architecture, 4,608 CUDA cores, a 128-bit memory interface, and either 8 GB or 16 GB of GDDR7 memory. It supports DLSS 4 features including Super Resolution, DLAA, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, and Multi Frame Generation. Those capabilities give you options to balance image quality and performance, but they do not dictate one best setting for every game. NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 family specifications

How to tune image quality and performance

  1. Set the game to native 1080p. In the game’s display or graphics settings, select 1920×1080 to match a 1080p monitor. Begin with a high-quality preset rather than lowering settings preemptively.
  2. Check the scenes that challenge performance. Play a demanding section and note both the image and how smoothly the game responds. If performance misses your target, lower one demanding in-game setting at a time and compare. This makes it easier to see which change helps and what visual cost it brings.
  3. Compare native rendering with DLSS Super Resolution Quality. In a game that supports DLSS Super Resolution, test its Quality mode against native rendering. Super Resolution reconstructs the output from a lower-resolution input, so results depend on the game and its implementation. Inspect fine detail and stability while moving—not just a still screenshot—and watch for shimmering, ghosting, or unwanted softness. NVIDIA’s DLSS feature overview
  4. Try DLAA if native performance is already comfortable. DLAA uses AI anti-aliasing at native resolution; it is not another Super Resolution mode. Compare it with the game’s other anti-aliasing options if you want to improve edge quality without using a lower-resolution input. It is available only in games that support it. NVIDIA’s DLSS feature overview
  5. Evaluate Frame Generation separately. If supported, Frame Generation can create additional frames for smoother displayed motion. NVIDIA describes it alongside Reflex, which is intended to help responsiveness. Consider Reflex when the game offers it, then judge controls in actual play; generated FPS is not proof of lower input latency. NVIDIA’s DLSS feature overview
  6. Use Multi Frame Generation only if it suits the game. Multi Frame Generation can generate multiple additional frames. Treat it as an optional smoothness tool rather than a requirement for 1080p, and check for artifacts and responsiveness. NVIDIA’s feature description does not establish one universally best multiplier for this resolution. NVIDIA’s DLSS feature overview

How to choose between native rendering, DLAA, and DLSS

Option How it works When to compare it What to inspect
Native rendering The game renders at the selected native 1920×1080 resolution. Use it as the baseline for comparison. Fine detail, edge quality, motion stability, performance headroom, and responsiveness.
DLAA Applies AI anti-aliasing at native resolution. When native performance is already comfortable and the game supports DLAA. Edge quality and temporal stability compared with native anti-aliasing options.
DLSS Super Resolution Quality Reconstructs a higher-resolution output from lower-resolution input. When you want to test whether Super Resolution can provide useful performance headroom while retaining acceptable image quality. Fine detail, shimmering, ghosting, sharpness in motion, and performance.

Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation are separate options for displayed smoothness, not replacements for this image-quality comparison. If either is enabled, assess responsiveness and artifacts alongside the displayed frame rate.

Using NVIDIA App DLSS overrides

NVIDIA documents a per-program NVIDIA App workflow for DLSS overrides, but availability depends on the game and software versions. Its support article, updated February 3, 2025, specified Game Ready Driver 572.16 or higher and NVIDIA App 11.0.2.312 or higher for the instructions it described. Those are requirements for that documented workflow, not a guarantee that every game or override will be available. Check NVIDIA’s current support article for the latest steps and compatibility details.

What performance claims do—and do not—tell you

NVIDIA’s launch and driver announcements include performance examples tied to named games and settings; they should not be treated as guarantees for every RTX 5060 Ti system or as a universal 1080p preset. For example, NVIDIA’s April 16, 2025 driver announcement reported “roughly a 20% improvement” for A Plague Tale: Requiem and Delta Force in the context of DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. That is a vendor-reported claim for selected games, not a general result for 1080p settings. NVIDIA’s April 16, 2025 driver announcement

Likewise, NVIDIA vice president of GeForce marketing Matt Wuebbling said in the company’s April 15, 2025 newsroom announcement, “The RTX 5060 family offers gamers next-generation performance and AI-enhanced visuals starting at $299.” This is a vendor marketing statement, not independent testing or a performance forecast for a particular game.
