There isn’t a dedicated web browser app on PS5, so there’s no browser icon to find in the game or media library. Sony’s PS5 FAQ says the system “doesn’t include a dedicated web browser app.” If you need to visit a website, a phone, tablet, or computer with a regular browser is the dependable option.
Does PS5 have a web browser?
No dedicated browser app is included with the PS5. Sony stated this in its PS5: The Ultimate FAQ, published November 9, 2020. That FAQ is from the console’s launch period; the official support information cited here does not document a later addition of a browser app.
Sony’s parental-controls support page includes “Web Browsing” in its list of PS5 control categories. That wording does not mean there is a standalone browser app: Sony’s FAQ explicitly says the console does not include one. Some parental-control features may also vary by country or region, as noted in Sony’s parental-controls guide.

Some users try sending themselves a website link through Game Base messages and selecting it. This is an attempted workaround, not a browser feature Sony documents or guarantees. Sony explains how to send messages in its PS5 messaging guide, but that guide does not promise that message links will open a general-purpose browser.

- Send a message containing the website URL.
- Select the link and see whether the console offers a way to open it.
The result may depend on the console’s software, the link, or other circumstances; Sony’s guide does not establish that this works across versions or websites. For reliable browsing, use another device rather than relying on this method.
Is the User’s Guide a browser?
No. The User’s Guide is PS5 help content for console features and settings, not a tool for browsing the open web. On supported menu layouts, Sony gives the route as Settings > User’s Guide, Health and Safety, and Other Information > User’s Guide. Newer model documentation may label the area “Guide & Tips,” so the wording can differ. See Sony’s User’s Guide instructions.

Does Remote Play let you browse on PS5?
No. Remote Play lets you access your PS5 from a PC or mobile device; it does not add a web browser app to the console. Sony describes Remote Play in its PS5 FAQ.
