To show still images instead of videos on the Bing homepage, open Settings and quick links, expand Settings, select More, and under Homepage choose Show a still image in the Videos and panoramas setting. Microsoft’s support documentation describes this as the option for showing images without videos.
Change the homepage to still images only
- Open the Bing homepage and select Settings and quick links.
- Expand Settings and select More.
- Under Homepage, locate Videos and panoramas and select Show a still image.
Microsoft’s support page states that Bing remembers this selection, so you do not need to repeat the steps on later visits. The source documents these labels and outcomes; it does not state a publication date.

Three homepage outcomes you can choose between
Bing offers three different behaviors for the homepage background. They are easy to confuse because all three sit in the same general area of settings, so it helps to know exactly what each one does.

If your goal is simply to avoid moving video while keeping a picture behind the search box, the still-image option is the one to select. Turning off Show homepage image removes the background entirely, which is a larger change than most people need.

What the official instructions do not cover
Microsoft’s support page does not specify which browsers, account types, or regions show these controls, and it does not provide a fallback for users who cannot find them. If the labels you see differ from the ones above, Bing may have updated its interface since the page was written. In that case, look for the same group of options under Settings and quick links and compare the wording against the three outcomes in the table before changing anything.
