You can move some installed Xbox app games to another drive using the game’s Manage controls. Support varies by title. For Battle.net, the steps are not confirmed here, so check the current launcher’s settings or Blizzard’s official support guidance rather than following Xbox instructions.
Move an eligible Xbox game to another drive
Xbox Wire described the move feature in a 2021 announcement. Its published workflow uses the Xbox app’s installed library and the game’s Manage view. The current app may use different labels, and not every game necessarily offers a move option.

Open the Xbox app and find the installed game in your library.

Open the game’s Manage controls. Xbox Wire’s announcement says to right-click the game and select Manage.

If the game’s available options include moving it, choose the destination drive and start the move.

Wait for the move to finish. Then confirm the game appears in the library and launches. If it does not, use the app’s available repair or support options rather than manually changing protected installation folders.

The feature was announced alongside options to repair games, and Xbox Wire noted that support could still be pending for games outside the supported list. Check the individual title’s controls before assuming it can be moved. Xbox Wire’s 2021 announcement describes the feature.
What to do with Battle.net games
The available official Blizzard support result was login-gated, so a specific relocation sequence, relinking requirement, or current control label cannot be confirmed here. Open the installed Battle.net client and check the affected game’s settings for a supported move or install-location option. If the option is unclear, consult accessible, current Blizzard support guidance. Do not assume Battle.net uses the Xbox app’s Manage workflow.

Choose a destination drive and check the game
An internal secondary drive is a reasonable place to start if your PC has one. An external drive can also be a destination, but Xbox Wire cautions: “You may experience issues launching games installed on an external drive.” That is a possibility, not a guarantee that every external drive or game will fail. If you use one, keep it connected and test the moved game. The announcement does not establish a required interface, minimum speed, filesystem, or universal compatibility guarantee.
If a moved game is missing
If you cannot find a moved game or app on the PC, Microsoft Support points users to Microsoft Store on the PC to see what they own. This is a way to check owned content; it does not establish that every Xbox app installation can be moved through Microsoft Store. For a game still listed in the Xbox app, use the app’s available repair or support path if it will not launch.

Avoid manual folder moves as the default
Do not treat copy-and-paste of protected WindowsApps folders as a substitute for a launcher-supported move. Permission changes, symlinks, registry edits, and third-party migration utilities are not validated here as safe default methods. Use the game’s launcher controls when they provide a move option.
