To fund a stablecoin card, use the card provider’s app to find out whether it takes a direct card top-up, draws from a linked wallet, or requires funds in a separate account. To cash out, use only the withdrawal route the provider offers—such as a bank off-ramp, ATM, or transfer to an exchange or wallet. The right steps depend on the provider, your location, the stablecoin and blockchain network, and your account eligibility.
How stablecoin card funding works
There is no single process for every card. Some let you add USDC in the card app; others spend from an existing wallet balance or require you to move crypto into an internal funding or collateral account. For example, Decaf’s instructions use Card > Add Funds, Cardtonic’s use USD Wallet > Add Money, and Binance’s Global Card uses a Funding Account. These are provider-specific examples, not universal menu paths.
A separate top-up may not be needed at all. Cardtonic says its virtual dollar card spends from the available USD Wallet balance, while Binance says direct third-party top-ups to its Global Card are unsupported and directs users to account collateral. Check your own card’s funding model before sending funds.

How to fund your card
- Open the provider’s own app or dashboard. Find its card funding or wallet screen and determine whether funds go directly to the card, to a linked wallet, or to a collateral or funding account.
- Select a supported stablecoin and network. Do not assume a token is accepted just because it has the right name. Supported token and network combinations can vary by product and, for some cards, by state. MetaMask, for example, says supported combinations may vary by network and state; check its current card help information before transferring.
- Use the receiving route shown by the provider. For an external-wallet deposit, copy the address or scan the in-app QR code, then verify it before sending. Cardtonic warns that sending an unsupported token or using the wrong network may result in loss of funds. A matching token name does not make two blockchain networks interchangeable.
- Review the amount and costs before confirming. Check the minimum, deposit fee, network gas, and any conversion costs. Cardtonic says its applicable minimum and deposit fee are displayed before a deposit. MetaMask says card transactions require gas deducted from the same token being spent, so confirm the currently supported asset and network in its help information.
- Wait for confirmation and an app update. Decaf says its USDC add-funds transfer should appear in a few minutes. Cardtonic says deposits update after the required blockchain confirmations and that timing depends on network conditions. If a transfer is still pending, check its status before sending again; a duplicate transfer will not resolve a delay.
How to move money out
“Cash out” can mean different things: transferring a balance to a bank, withdrawing cash at an ATM, or moving stablecoins to an exchange, neobank, or wallet to redeem them. The available route depends on the card and your region.
#1 Best Overall
Bank withdrawal through an off-ramp
Plasma One says users can send funds to a bank using off-ramps in its app. Available payment rails depend on the user’s region, and partner fees may apply; the app shows applicable fees before confirmation. Follow the route presented in your account rather than assuming a bank transfer is available everywhere.
ATM cash withdrawal
Coinbase says its card can be used to withdraw cash at ATMs without a Coinbase ATM fee, though the ATM operator may charge its own fee. Coinbase also says crypto is automatically converted into USD for purchases and ATM withdrawals. These are Coinbase-specific terms, not a general feature or fee rule for stablecoin cards.

Redemption through an exchange, neobank, or wallet
Circle says individuals can access USDC through exchanges, neobanks, and digital wallets. Direct redemption through Circle Mint is different: Circle says Mint is for institutions, not ordinary individuals or small businesses. Check the receiving service’s deposit and withdrawal instructions before moving funds.
Before confirming any withdrawal, check the destination details, payout rail or network, local currency, limits, estimated settlement time, and fees. A bank or ATM operator may charge separately from the card provider.

- Material: Genuine Leather
Fees and transfer times to check
Costs can arise at several points in the route, so a claim that a card is “free” may not describe the full journey. Check for:
- Fees or spreads when buying or converting stablecoins.
- Blockchain gas for deposits or transactions.
- Card conversion fees or exchange-rate spreads.
- Provider deposit or withdrawal fees.
- Bank, foreign-exchange, payout-partner, or ATM-operator charges.
Coinbase says it charges no Coinbase card transaction fee but that a spread may apply when it buys, sells, or trades crypto; its ATM guidance separately notes that an operator may charge. Plasma One says some partner fees for bank withdrawals appear in-app, and Cardtonic says it displays its deposit minimum and fee before the transfer.

Timing depends on the route. Decaf describes its in-app USDC card load as taking a few minutes; Cardtonic says deposits usually process within minutes but depend on network activity and confirmations. Circle’s statements about 24/7/365 book and RTP rails and near-instant USDC minting concern institutional funding, not a guaranteed consumer card transfer time. Bank wires can take a different amount of time.
Availability, custody, and tax considerations
Eligibility is product- and location-specific. Coinbase’s card page lists availability in U.S. states except Hawaii. MetaMask says support can vary by network and state. Plasma One says geographic, regulatory, and other eligibility limits apply and may change. Confirm your account’s current terms and app options instead of relying on a general availability claim.

- Dual Clear ID Windows – Features two transparent ID slots, ideal for quick access to driver's licenses, work badges, or transit cards.

Do not assume a stablecoin balance held through a card is a bank deposit. Plasma One says users custody their stablecoins and that those balances are not bank deposits; custody arrangements differ across products, so check the provider’s terms.
Tax treatment also depends on what you spend. Coinbase says spending crypto can have tax implications because a card purchase is similar to selling crypto. Its help page says spending USDC at par with USD should not produce a taxable gain or loss, and advises users to consult a tax adviser. That statement is narrow to the described USDC use case and is not individualized tax advice.
