To attach a webcam to a monitor, use the mount supplied with that model: open an adjustable clip over the monitor’s top edge, or follow the maker’s instructions for a suction-style mount. Make sure it sits securely, connect the webcam to your computer, then adjust the camera angle. Mounts differ, so check your webcam’s model-specific instructions before fitting it.
Identify the webcam’s mount before installing it
Webcams may use an adjustable clip or hinged base, a micro-suction mount, or a separate adapter. Check the manufacturer’s setup instructions to identify the mount and confirm it suits your monitor’s top edge, bezel, or back surface. The instructions for one model should not be assumed to apply to another.
For instance, Dell’s WB3023 instructions describe opening its universal clip, placing it on the bezel, and adjusting the rear foot until the camera sits firmly (Dell WB3023 mounting instructions). Logitech’s MX BRIO uses a micro-suction pad instead of that clip style (Logitech MX BRIO setup information).

Open the clip or hinged base according to the webcam’s instructions.

Set it over the monitor’s top edge or bezel, positioning the camera so it does not cover more of the display than necessary.

Adjust the rear foot or base until the mount rests firmly. Dell describes this approach for the WB3023; the adjustment mechanism may differ on other webcams.

Attach a webcam with a micro-suction mount
For the Logitech MX BRIO, Logitech instructs users to wipe the back of the monitor before mounting. Its setup steps are model-specific:

Wipe the monitor back where the pad will attach.

Open the webcam mount and remove the protective film from the micro-suction pad.

Press the pad against the back of the monitor as directed, then attach the webcam.

Follow the instructions for your exact model rather than applying this method to a mount that uses a different attachment system.

Check fit and camera placement
Monitor thickness, edge shape, bezel, and screen material vary, and the available instructions do not establish that any one mount fits every display. Treat compatibility as model-specific. Before leaving the webcam in place, check that the mount is stable, the camera angle is adjustable to your needs, and the mount does not obstruct too much of the screen.
Use a desk or tripod if the monitor is unsuitable
If the supplied mount does not suit your monitor, check whether your webcam supports desk placement or a tripod. Microsoft documents desk, display, and tripod placement for its Modern Webcam; Logitech and Dell also describe tripod use for supported models. A tripod may require a compatible thread or adapter, so verify the webcam’s instructions before attaching one.
