To manage checkout settings in a Hostinger AI Builder online store, open Store Manager → Settings → Checkout. From there you can add policy links (Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy), decide which customer details shoppers must provide, and set the language used in the shopping bag, checkout, and invoices. Store Manager is only available with an active Hostinger Ecommerce subscription, and the route to it depends on whether your site runs in manual mode or agentic mode.
Find your store mode and reach Store Manager
Hostinger’s checkout settings guide uses two labels for how a site is managed: manual mode and agentic mode. Your route into the store depends on which one you are in. Check which path your dashboard shows before you follow the steps below.

Both routes require an active Hostinger Ecommerce subscription. Without one, store management is not available, and none of the checkout controls below will appear.

- Open Store Manager using the route for your mode.
- Select Settings.
- Select Checkout.
The checkout screen groups its controls into three areas: checkout policies, custom options for customer details, and checkout language. Store Manager’s settings overview places checkout alongside store identity, payment, shipping, tax, invoice, and email settings, so if you are looking for a control that is not on this screen, check those neighboring categories first.

Add legal policy links
The Checkout policies section supports three policy types: Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. Each one can point to a page on your site or to an external address. Customers are asked to agree to the policies before they pay, so the links need to resolve to pages that are live on your published site.
Option 1: Website Builder Page
Use this option when you want to create the legal text as a page on your Hostinger site. It is available only in manual mode.

- In Checkout policies, choose the policy type and select Website Builder Page.
- Add the legal page to your site and complete its required fields.
- Enable Add to checkout footer.
- Submit the page. The link then appears back in Store Manager under that policy.
Option 2: Custom link
Use this option when the policy already lives somewhere, such as a page hosted outside the site builder or a document at a permanent address. Select Custom link and paste the full URL. The guide does not describe any difference in legal weight between the two options, so choose based on where your policy text is kept and whether you are in manual mode.
Require customer details at checkout
Under Custom options, you can require a phone number, add a custom checkout field, or both. A custom field can be marked as required. Ask only for information you need to fulfil and support the order. Every extra required field is one more step a shopper can abandon, so a field that is merely useful for your records is usually better left optional or left out.

Set the checkout language
The Checkout language setting controls the language shown in the shopping bag, the checkout, and invoices. Set it once and check all three, since they are not configured separately on this screen.
Other checkout-adjacent controls
The guide also mentions three related options. Checkout can include an email-marketing consent choice. Manual or offline payment methods can be enabled. Payment methods you do not want to offer can be removed. The guide does not provide a universal list of payment methods, so the methods you see depend on your account and on how you have set up payments. Confirm the options you can see in your own Store Manager rather than relying on a list from another source.

Save and publish your changes
Save each change, then update the website so the new checkout settings reach the live site. In manual mode, the shopping bag itself can be turned on or off in header settings, which is a separate place from the checkout screen.

“The checkout page itself cannot be edited, i.e., changing its structure, layout, or design is not yet supported.”
This is a current product limitation described by Hostinger, not a general rule about ecommerce platforms. If you need a different layout, you will have to work within the controls above: policy links, customer detail fields, and language. Check the guide again if you need to change the layout, since Hostinger may add options over time.
Troubleshooting common problems
- A change is not visible to shoppers. Confirm you saved the setting and updated the website. Settings saved in Store Manager do not reach the live site until the update is complete.
- The legal page link is missing from the checkout footer. If you used Website Builder Page, make sure Add to checkout footer was enabled before you submitted the page.
- Checkout options are missing from your dashboard. Confirm you are in the correct mode for the route you followed and that your Ecommerce subscription is active.
- Payments fail or checkout behaves unexpectedly. Hostinger’s guide to fixing online store payment and checkout issues advises testing payments on the published website rather than in the editor, so run a test purchase there before assuming a setting is wrong.
Hostinger updates its dashboard labels and navigation from time to time. If a menu name on your screen differs from the ones in this article, follow the same sequence of sections and check the current Hostinger Help Center article for exact wording.
