Keep the 24/7 stream public as the channel’s free gathering place; use memberships to add recognition, a voice in chat and a few well-defined extras. Start with benefits viewers can use whenever they arrive, then add scheduled content only if you can reliably deliver it. There is no established universal Indian viewer preference or membership price for this kind of channel, so ask your audience and adjust based on what you can sustain.
What should you offer channel members?
For an always-on channel, the strongest starting point is a small bundle that works across time zones without requiring the creator to be present around the clock. YouTube supports loyalty badges, custom emoji, members-only live chat, members-only posts, members-first videos and members-only live streams, among other options. The platform lists these features; it does not establish which one Indian viewers prefer most.

How can members get more from a 24/7 livestream?
Make the first level about belonging and participation
Pair a loyalty badge and channel emoji with a plainly described chat benefit. For example, say that the stream remains public, while member-only chat is enabled during specified periods or whenever the setting is active. Do not imply that a creator or moderator will be present at every hour unless that is genuinely covered.

Members-only posts can carry updates, polls or short behind-the-scenes notes. Members-first videos can offer early access, then become public after the interval you choose. A weekly update or monthly early-access release might be manageable, but those are planning examples, not YouTube requirements or proven conversion formulas. State the cadence and deliver it consistently rather than promising a constant stream of new extras.

Members-only videos must be fully original and have no copyright claims, according to YouTube’s memberships guidance. The same guidance says members-only Shorts must be fully original and cannot include third-party-owned music, including music from the Shorts music library. Check the current guidance before publishing or promising either format.
Use higher levels for a distinct, deliverable step up
YouTube allows up to six membership levels, with one to five perks per level. Each higher-priced level inherits the perks of lower levels. A simple structure is easier to explain: an entry level might offer recognition and chat participation, while a higher level adds a clearly defined content benefit. Avoid tiers that differ only in confusing ways or require more personal attention than you can provide.

Which membership promises should you avoid?
Membership availability is conditional, and perks come with policy and operational responsibilities. Check your channel’s eligibility and Studio status before promoting an offer. - Avoid perks aimed at children and ensure the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility and policy criteria, including acceptance of the relevant Commerce Product Module. India is listed among creator locations where memberships are available, but that does not mean every Indian channel qualifies.
- Promise only benefits you can deliver to members’ satisfaction. YouTube says it does not take responsibility for creator perks.
- Plan for interruptions: if memberships are disabled, YouTube says levels, members and perks will not be saved and recurring payments will be cancelled. If a channel enters paused mode, members lose perk access and payments pause.
Check the current country-specific price reference in YouTube Help or Studio before publishing a price. Prices vary by market and timing, and a verified current India price table is not established here. YouTube’s memberships guidance also describes trials that may be automatically offered to eligible viewers for one month; each viewer can redeem one trial total across creators. Check current Studio settings rather than assuming a trial will be offered.

What is specific to Indian viewers?
Build around your own audience’s language, time zones and feedback rather than assuming all Indian viewers want the same benefits. The available platform sources document feature mechanics, not a preferred language mix, ideal viewing schedule or perk ranking for Indian audiences.
Some broad platform figures provide context but are not forecasts for a membership offer. In a Google India Blog post published 7 July 2026, YouTube attributed to its internal data that the number of channels earning seven figures or more in INR revenue was up over 20% year over year. The same post attributed a 92% figure to an Ipsos Creator Optics survey from May 2025: surveyed Indian creators who agreed YouTube helps them foster a deep community with their audience. Neither figure measures viewer willingness to pay for a particular perk. The post also reports the India launch of Gifts on 7 July 2026; Gifts are a separate live-stream support feature, not a channel-membership benefit. YouTube India’s 2021 article reported over 100% growth in creator revenue in India from features including Super Chat, Super Stickers, Channel Memberships and Merchandise between February and May 2020. That is historical, platform-reported growth across several features, not a current result, a memberships-only figure or a prediction for an individual channel. How should you test and refine your perks?
- Check eligibility first. Open YouTube Studio and confirm that the Memberships tab is available; YouTube says it appears for eligible channels. Review the current rules before designing the offer. See Turn channel memberships on or off.
- Ask viewers what they value. Use a public poll or direct feedback to compare recognition, chat participation and scheduled exclusive content. Treat responses as guidance from your audience, not a guarantee of what all viewers will buy.
- Write the offer in plain language. For every level, say what is included, when members can expect it, whether a live host or moderator is involved, and whether an early-access video will later become public.
- Start with benefits you can fulfil across the clock. Launch a compact offer such as a badge, emoji and clearly bounded member-chat access. Add content commitments only when you know who will produce and moderate them.
- Review the actual experience and adjust. Watch joins, cancellations, audience feedback and your own delivery workload. Change future promises carefully so current members are not left unclear about what they are owed.
Keep the 24/7 stream running without tying perks to a home computer
Membership perks work best when the public stream remains dependable. If you operate the broadcast yourself, make sure your chosen setup can sustain the stream and recover from interruptions; do not promise around-the-clock chat moderation unless you can staff it.
