To loop Kannada Christian songs on YouTube around the clock, prepare a playlist or audio/video file you have permission to broadcast, send it through an encoder to YouTube Live, and monitor the stream so you can respond to interruptions. YouTube’s workflow uses a stream created in YouTube Studio, an encoder configured with the stream URL and key, and a preview in Live Control Room before you go live. First-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to become enabled, so set it up in advance. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the process.

Check song and recording rights before you stream

Do not start with the playlist; start with permission. A song’s composition (music and lyrics) and a particular recording can have different rights owners. Confirm that the permissions cover continuous transmission on YouTube, the territories where the stream may be viewed, any lyrics shown on screen, and any archive YouTube creates. Keep written evidence of the permissions.

YouTube’s livestream terms require streamers to have the necessary rights for their live content worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s livestream terms. A song being Christian, available on YouTube, or described as “free” does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube notes that copyright-safe music must be public-domain material or used with permission, and that Content ID may still flag music labeled free. YouTube’s copyright-safe music guidance.

Expect Content ID checks and possible interruptions

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. When it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the matched material remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel. Without allowlisting, a stream can still be interrupted even if you have a licence. Ask specifically whether a worship licence covers this format

CCLI may be worth contacting about worship repertoire, but its public descriptions do not establish that a licence covers a continuous, song-only Kannada compilation or a particular commercial recording. CCLI describes its Streaming License as covering live-streamed or uploaded worship services, and Streaming Plus as covering song recordings and multitracks. Its Asia page also describes streaming services that include worship music and Streaming Plus for recordings and tracks. Ask CCLI or the relevant rights owners about the territory, specific songs and recordings, platform, and continuous-stream format before relying on a licence. CCLI Streaming; CCLI Asia streaming licences.

Prepare the loop and choose how to send it

Your playlist or repeated media file provides the content; an encoder sends the audio/video feed to YouTube Live. For a simple stream, that feed might pair authorized song audio with a still image. The YouTube setup guidance describes encoder workflows, but does not endorse a particular playlist player or guarantee unattended 24/7 operation. Choose software or hardware that suits your source material and has a credible plan for monitoring and restarting.

Software or hardware encoder?

YouTube supports software encoder applications and standalone hardware encoders. A hardware encoder is optional; compare the options on YouTube compatibility, unattended-operation design, supported inputs, failover, monitoring, power and network resilience, and total cost. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production events, but its published guidance does not validate a specific model for continuous-duty streaming. See YouTube’s encoder overview.

RTMP/RTMPS or HLS?

For a straightforward loop, use the encoder protocol and configuration that match your YouTube workflow. YouTube lists OBS among encoders that support HLS output, but HLS has higher latency than RTMP and requires specific segment and playlist settings. A static song loop does not need HLS unless your workflow requires features it supports. YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance.

Set up YouTube Live and start the stream

  1. Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream. Confirm the channel is eligible and live streaming is enabled. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility information.
  2. Prepare the feed. Build the authorized song playlist or repeating media file and pair it with the visual you intend to show. Test the audio level and transitions before the public stream.
  3. Copy the stream URL and key into your encoder. Use the values for the stream created in Studio. Keep the stream key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
  4. Choose sustainable output settings. Set a resolution and bitrate your sustained upload can support. YouTube’s guidance includes 720p at 30 frames per second with a 2–6 Mbps video bitrate, H.264 over RTMP/RTMPS, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. Treat these as guidance, not a universal preset: check YouTube’s current settings page and the encoder’s available options before configuring. Review YouTube’s encoder settings.
  5. Check upload capacity. Run a speed test from the connection that will carry the stream. Available upload bandwidth must exceed the total stream bitrate with headroom; a connection that only just matches the configured bitrate leaves little room for fluctuation. YouTube recommends testing bandwidth before streaming. See YouTube’s bandwidth and quality guidance.
  6. Preview before going public. Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm the image, song audio, and event accessibility before making the stream public. YouTube also recommends testing encoder failover and monitoring audio and video quality. Read YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting and setup guidance.
  7. Plan the session boundary. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one event can stay open indefinitely: schedule transitions and verify current Studio behavior for your channel and event. Review YouTube’s encoder streaming instructions.

Keep a 24/7 stream recoverable

A continuous stream depends on more than a playlist. The internet connection, encoder, power, source playback, rights status, and YouTube itself can all affect whether viewers receive the feed. YouTube’s guidance recommends checking stream health and testing failover; no reviewed official setup guidance guarantees unattended operation for a chosen player or encoder.

  • Monitor stream health and audio/video playback, either directly or with an alerting arrangement that someone will act on.
  • Have a restart plan for encoder, power, network, or platform interruptions, and test it before relying on the stream.
  • Keep a backup of the authorized playlist and encoder configuration, but protect the stream key as a credential.
  • Plan how you will end one event and start the next, given YouTube’s stated automatic archiving behavior for streams under 12 hours.
  • Keep rights documentation accessible and resolve any Content ID match with the rights owner, including allowlisting where needed.
