In the Spotify app, go to Search > Browse All > Audiobooks. Choose a title marked Included in Premium to use the subscriber catalog, if your plan qualifies and you have included listening time left. Other titles may be available to unlock separately. Availability and access vary by country.
Check that Spotify audiobooks are available where you are
Spotify audiobooks are offered only in selected markets. Spotify’s audiobook availability page is the place to check your country. Because availability can change and the page’s displayed country list may vary by locale, verify your location there or in your Spotify account rather than relying on a list copied elsewhere.

Check whether your Premium plan qualifies
Spotify’s current help information lists 12 included audiobook hours per month for Premium Individual and for the plan manager on Premium Family or Premium Duo. Premium Student is excluded. These are current plan terms, not a guarantee that the same allowance or eligibility applies in every market or will remain unchanged. Consult Spotify’s Audiobooks in Premium plans page and your local account for the terms that apply to you.
Track your remaining included hours
- Mobile app: Tap your profile picture, then go to Settings and privacy > Account > your plan name > Track your included hours and top ups.
- Desktop: Open Audiobook Listening Time.
Spotify notes that the tracking display can lag in some circumstances, so it may not update immediately after listening.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How Spotify counts audiobook time
Included hours are counted using a book’s normal runtime. Playing at a faster speed does not reduce the time charged against the allowance, and listening to a passage again uses time too. Unused included hours expire at the next billing period rather than carrying over. Spotify documents these rules on its Premium audiobook help page.
If you cannot find a particular audiobook
- The Audiobooks section is missing: Check whether audiobooks are available in your country using Spotify’s availability page.
- The book appears but is not included: Look for a separate unlock option on the title; access may differ by country.
- You expected included hours: Confirm that you have Premium Individual or manage the Family or Duo plan. Premium Student does not qualify for the included audiobook hours listed by Spotify.
- Your hours look wrong: Allow for a possible delay in the tracking display and check Spotify’s account-level information.
Catalog contents, plan access, and separate unlock options can change over time, so the title page and account are the best checks for what is currently available to you.
