Evangelion’s original audio drama Kansai Travel Plan is available to eligible passengers aboard the Tokaido Shinkansen during JR Central’s campaign from October 18, 2026, through January 31, 2027. To play it, register a free account, open the campaign page while riding, enable location and speed measurement, complete the questionnaire, and start the drama. Listening also lets you obtain a ride certificate that can be exchanged for an original acrylic keychain at designated Osaka locations.
What is the Evangelion Shinkansen audio drama?
JR Central’s Oshi-tabi campaign pairs the Tokaido Shinkansen with the Osaka presentation of the Evangelion 30th-anniversary exhibition ALL OF EVANGELION. The campaign’s featured in-train content is an original voice drama titled Kansai Travel Plan. JR Central’s official campaign page lists the campaign period as October 18, 2026, through January 31, 2027.

In the story, Misato and Ritsuko go ahead to scout Kansai while planning a school trip for the pilots. The planned group is Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Mari, and Kaworu, according to Siliconera’s October 6, 2026 English-language report. Kotono Mitsuishi voices Misato and Yuriko Yamaguchi voices Ritsuko, as credited by JR Central.
How to access and play the drama on board
- Register a free account. JR Central requires an account to use the campaign content.
- Ride the Tokaido Shinkansen during the campaign. Open the official campaign page while aboard the train.
- Enable location and speed measurement. The page uses both to confirm the in-train listening experience. JR Central says Shinkansen Free Wi-Fi is not required.
- Complete the questionnaire and play the drama. Follow the on-page instructions to start Kansai Travel Plan.
Siliconera describes the listening trigger as the train reaching a certain speed after leaving Shin-Yokohama. JR Central’s listed steps confirm location and speed measurement but do not specify that station-and-speed trigger on the campaign page, so follow the instructions displayed there rather than relying on an assumed activation point.

Where to exchange the ride certificate for the keychain
After listening, passengers can obtain a ride certificate and exchange it for the campaign’s original acrylic keychain. The redemption location changes partway through the campaign:

JR Central says a ride certificate is generally valid until 23:59 on the day after it is obtained. A certificate obtained on the final campaign day is valid only that same day. It can be obtained once per day. Exhibition and store hours, as well as closures, may change; check the campaign page before making the trip.

- Osaka exhibition: ALL OF EVANGELION is scheduled for October 18, 2026, through January 11, 2027.
- Tokyo Station poster: JR Central lists a poster in the Nihombashi-guchi ticket gate area from December 9, 2026, through January 7, 2027. Posting dates and placement may change. Access to the station area requires a valid admission ticket or travel ticket.
The audio-drama campaign continues through January 31, 2027, even though the Osaka exhibition ends January 11. That is why the later keychain exchange moves to EVANGELION STORE OSAKA. Campaign dates, access instructions, and operating hours are subject to change; verify them on JR Central’s official page before you travel.
