To link your PSN account to Discord, open User Settings > Connections in Discord, select the PlayStation icon, sign in to PSN in the authorization window, and approve the connection. Linking does not automatically show everything: Discord has separate controls for displaying your PlayStation online ID on your profile and showing PlayStation activity as your status.
How do I link my PSN account to Discord?
You can start in Discord, PlayStation Account Management, or on a PS5. Choose the route that matches the device you are using.
Link from Discord
- Open Discord on desktop, in a web browser, or on mobile.
- Go to User Settings > Connections. On mobile, the menu may be labelled Connection.
- Select the PlayStation Network icon.
- When the authorization window opens, sign in using your PlayStation sign-in ID and password, then approve the connection.
- Return to Connections and choose whether to show your PlayStation online ID on your profile and whether to show PlayStation as your status.
Link through PlayStation
- Online: Open Account Management > Linked Services > Discord and follow the prompts.
- PS5: Press the PS button to open the control center, then choose Game Base > Discord > Link Account and follow the prompts.
Menu wording can vary by app or system software version. Sony documents these methods in its PlayStation linking instructions.

What can Discord show after linking?
Account linking, profile display, and activity display are separate. In Discord’s PlayStation connection settings, you can choose whether to display your PlayStation online ID on your profile and whether to display PlayStation as your status. Showing your ID does not by itself mean your current game or activity will appear.

For PlayStation activity to appear on Discord, Sony and Discord say your PSN privacy settings for Online Status and Now Playing must be set to Anyone. On PS5, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy > View and Customize Your Privacy Settings. PS4 users can adjust the equivalent privacy controls under Profile and Personal Info | Messaging. Why isn’t my PlayStation status showing on Discord?
If the account is connected but your status or game is missing, check the PSN visibility settings first. A setting that makes you appear offline or hides games can limit what Discord displays. If those settings allow visibility, another local Discord activity may take precedence over PlayStation activity.

- Confirm the PSN connection is still listed in Discord under User Settings > Connections.
- Check that both Online Status and Now Playing are visible to Anyone on PlayStation.
- Check whether you are appearing offline or have hidden games.
- If another Discord activity is active, it may take precedence in your status.
Can I use Discord voice chat on PS5?
Yes. Discord voice chat can be joined directly on PS5 or transferred from Discord on mobile or desktop. Sony and Discord document activity sharing for both PS4 and PS5, but the console voice-chat feature is for PS5; Sony says the PS5 needs the latest system software for Discord voice chat. Linking accounts does not install a standalone Discord app on PlayStation.
How do I unlink PSN from Discord?
You can disconnect from Discord or from PlayStation:

- PlayStation online: Open Account Management > Linked Services and unlink Discord.
- PS5: Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Linked Services > Discord > Unlink Account.
Do I need PlayStation Plus, and can a child account link?
PlayStation Plus is not required. PlayStation Support states: “No, a PlayStation Plus membership isn’t required for this feature.” Access for child accounts can depend on the child’s age and location; Sony directs families to its communication and user-generated-content controls rather than promising access for every family-managed account. The feature is available where PlayStation and Discord services are available.
