To link Halo Waypoint to Twitch, sign in at HaloWaypoint.com with the Xbox Live account for the Gamertag you plan to play with, open Settings from your profile picture, go to Linked Accounts, and select Link Twitch. Sign in to the Twitch account you want to use, authorize 343 Industries, then refresh the page and confirm the status reads Account Connected.
The link exists mainly for Halo Twitch Drops. Players earn eligible in-game content by taking part in Halo events on Twitch, and the rewards and requirements change from event to event and are offered for a limited time. Linking is only the first step, so this guide also covers how to claim a reward and what to check when something does not appear.
Link Halo Waypoint to Twitch, step by step
Use a desktop or mobile browser and follow these steps in order. The menu labels below are the ones shown in Halo Waypoint in 2026 guidance from Halo Support.

- Go to HaloWaypoint.com and sign in with the Xbox Live account linked to the Gamertag you intend to use. Confirm the Gamertag before you link, because a reward is only useful if it lands on the account you actually play with.
- Click your profile picture and choose Settings.
- Open Linked Accounts and select Link Twitch.
- If prompted, sign in to the Twitch account you want to connect. Check the username on screen, since this is the account that will earn Drop progress.
- Confirm the authorization request for 343 Industries.
- Refresh Halo Waypoint and check the Twitch entry under Linked Accounts. It should read Status: Account Connected.
You can also start from a reward. In Twitch Drops Inventory, selecting Connect on a reward takes you to Halo Waypoint. The same requirements apply: the correct Xbox account must be signed in and the Twitch authorization must be completed.

If the status does not read Account Connected
Halo Support recommends unlinking the Twitch connection and linking it again, then repeating the status check. Refresh the page after each attempt rather than relying on the earlier screen. If the status still fails, confirm you are signed in to the correct Xbox account, because a link made under a different Gamertag will not carry rewards to your main account.
Linking is only half of a reward
Earning a Drop requires three separate actions, and a working link does not complete them for you:

- Meet the event requirement on Twitch. Progress is tracked while you watch eligible streams, as described in the troubleshooting section below.
- Claim the reward in Twitch Drops Inventory. A Drop can be claimed once per account.
- Claim again in Halo Waypoint for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. For MCC Drops, sign in to Halo Waypoint after claiming in Twitch Drops Inventory and visit the Twitch Drops Redemption page to claim the listed reward there as well.
Timing matters. Halo Support advises linking your accounts within 14 days after a Drop campaign ends to make sure the reward can be fulfilled. That 14-day figure is the window Halo Support recommends in its guidance accessed in 2026; it is not a general rule for every Twitch campaign, so check the event page for its end date.

Halo Waypoint allows only one Twitch account to be linked at a time. If you want to switch to a different Twitch account, the order of steps matters:
- In Twitch, open the Twitch Connection settings and disconnect 343 Industries.
- Sign in to the Twitch account you want to keep using.
- Return to Halo Waypoint, then open Settings and Linked Accounts.
- If the old Twitch connection is still shown, unlink it there.
- Select Link Twitch, sign in to the new account if asked, and authorize 343 Industries.
- Refresh and confirm the status reads Account Connected.
Troubleshooting Halo Twitch Drops
Most problems fall into one of five stages: linking and authorization, earning progress on Twitch, claiming on Twitch, redemption in Halo Waypoint, or delivery in the game. Identify which stage is failing before you change anything, because the fix for each is different.
The connection disappeared after a password change
Halo Support says that changing your Twitch password can unlink the account. Repeat the linking steps above and confirm the status reads Account Connected.

The reward is missing
First check that the Twitch requirement is complete and that the reward is marked ready in Twitch Drops Inventory. Then open Halo Waypoint, click the profile menu, choose Drops & Code Redemption, and select the Twitch Drops tab. If the reward shows a Claim button, use it to grant the earned item manually.
The reward says claimed but is not in the game
Confirm that the correct Gamertag is active in the game. Halo Support recommends waiting 24 hours, then restarting Halo Infinite or Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The 24-hour wait is the guidance Halo Support gives for a reward that appears in redemption history but has not yet reached the game. If the item is still missing after that, submit a support ticket and attach screenshots of your Twitch Drops Inventory and your Halo Waypoint Drops and redemption history.

Twitch progress is not increasing
Progress only counts while you watch an affiliated live stream signed in to the Twitch account linked to Halo Waypoint. Video on demand (VOD) replays do not count. Use the Twitch website on PC or Mac, or the official Twitch app on Android or iOS.
Several common habits can interrupt progress: having multiple Twitch pages open, watching channels for different campaigns at the same time, or running browser extensions. Close extra Twitch tabs and disable extensions, then reload the live stream and let it play.
