In Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade, character progression is split across separate systems: character level, GRADE, skill enhancement, awakening, character rank, and Recollection Bits. Use Training Lights to gain character EXP; if a character has reached its level cap, advance its GRADE to raise that cap. Skill enhancement is a separate menu that uses JP and Cursed Crystals, and it does not upgrade every ability.
How character progression works
Character level increases core stats. GRADE unlocks slots with materials and raises the character’s level ceiling as it advances. Skill enhancement improves eligible command skills and the ultimate skill. Awakening, character rank, and Recollection Bits are separate development systems that can affect stats or combat effects; they are not part of the skill-upgrade menu.
The steps and material names below are described by specialist guides, rather than an official mechanics manual. Menu labels, level caps, eligible abilities, and material sources may differ by client version or localization. Check the current in-game upgrade display before spending resources.

- Open the character enhancement area and select the character you want to train.
- Use Training Lights (修練の燈) to add experience and increase the character’s level. The Game8 leveling guide describes Training Lights as the main general-purpose leveling item and points to the Training Lights enhancement quest as a dedicated source: Game8’s character leveling guide.
- Check current event rewards as well as ordinary farming; events may also provide Training Lights.
How to raise the level cap with GRADE
If your character cannot gain more levels because it has reached its cap, work on GRADE. The GameWith guide describes GRADE advancement as a sequence of gathering materials, unlocking the available slots, completing the current GRADE, and then moving to the next one. Advancing GRADE raises the character’s level cap.

- Measures approximately 6.9” tall

- Open the character’s GRADE screen and inspect which materials are missing.
- Farm the required items. The guide identifies the Cursed Object Collection quest as a source for GRADE materials.
- Use the GRADE screen to unlock slots with the required materials, then complete the current GRADE and advance.
- When the game offers an obtain or acquisition prompt beside a missing item, use it to check quests that award that material.
See GameWith’s GRADE guide for the described material and slot process. Use the current client’s display to verify availability and requirements.
How to upgrade skills
- Open character enhancement and select the character.
- Choose the skill-enhancement option.
- Select an eligible command skill or ultimate skill, then review the displayed benefit and cost before confirming the upgrade.
Guides list JP and Cursed Crystals (呪晶) as skill-upgrade materials, with rarer crystal types required at higher levels. Requirements rise as skills level up, so inspect the particular skill’s current cost rather than assuming every upgrade costs the same. The Game8 guide says command skills and the ultimate skill can be enhanced up to level 10; verify the available maximum in your version: Game8’s skill enhancement guide.

Which abilities can this menu enhance?
The guide says auto-skills and linked ultimate attacks are not upgraded through the skill-enhancement menu. Linked ultimate effects are tied to awakening stages, and the guide also notes latent unlocks as another possible influence. In other words, an ability without a conventional level-up option may be developed through a different system—or may not be eligible for this menu. Check the ability’s own screen in your client.

Which upgrades should you prioritize?
There is no universally best order for every character or roster. Choose based on what is holding you back and what your team needs:
Rank #3
- A Good Smile Company import
- From the popular anime series
- Measures approximately 6.7” tall
- Be sure to add her to your collection
- If the character is level-capped: prioritize GRADE materials and slot unlocks, since GRADE advancement raises the level ceiling.
- If you need broad stat growth: character levels and GRADE are direct progression routes.
- If you need a specific combat effect: consider a skill upgrade that improves a useful buff, heal, or area attack. GameWith’s skill-priority guide recommends support effects and effective area skills as possible priorities, but the best choice depends on the character’s role, your team, and current content: GameWith’s skill priority guide.
- If resources are scarce: compare the next skill’s displayed JP and crystal costs with other needs. Higher skill levels require more resources, so an early upgrade and a max-level investment are not equivalent commitments.
- If farming: compare the current quests and event rewards for the materials you actually need rather than farming by habit.
How the guides support these mechanics
The progression details in this article come from Japanese-language third-party game guides. The official English app listing and Steam listing establish that the game is available on those storefronts, but they do not document these upgrade mechanics. For official game information, see the App Store listing and Steam listing. Because exact labels and requirements may change, the in-game display is the practical reference for your version.
